Guys,

I really appreciate all your help so far.

I do have yet another question...

A diamond that i am looking at has a very small culet. When i plug in the angles CA,PA (35, 40.8)... and theres no need to enter a culet %.... i get a 1.6 on the HCA

just for kicks, i put in the depth % for crown and pavilion and then estimated .35% -1.05% for my very small culet and the HCA numbers jumped. .35% culet yielded 1.9HCA. 1.05% culet yielded 2.7

obviously the excellents went to very goods... not a bad diamond still, but is there anyway to know what percentage to actually enter for the culet?

am i making a mountain out of a culet??

thanks

No need to worry, a very small culet will not be visible to the naked eye and is not a determining factor for the HCA or the beauty of the diamond.

The best way to evaluate is once you score below 2 on the HCA is to obtain Idealscope and or ASET images in order to learn more about a particular diamond, the HCA is used for elimination not selection.
