It seems that I have done nothing but cry over my wedding set. I love them. But there has been nothing but problems with them since we picked them up. The fast version for those who don''t remember... Bought an in store set from a local yet reputable dealer that hubby has dealt with for years. Went to pick up the set at the beginning of March, and were told a couple of the pave set diamonds on the engagement ring had fallen out. I cried. They said come back the next day, they would have it fixed. Got married in the middle of March. Six days later I looked at my wedding band...it was missing a pave set diamond. I cried. They admitted they knew it was gonna probably happen, they had ordered a cast of the ring in my size (sizing down so much had stretched the setting). BUT...they ordered the cast BEFORE we originally picked them up...so, end of February. Because the missing diamond was on the lower edge of the band, I was able to hide it pretty well and wear the set. April came and went...the dealer said the cast was done, they were looking for 72 "perfect" .1 diamonds to put in the bands. PLEASE! So, middle of April, I looked down and a diamond was missing from my engagement ring. I bawled. Forget crying. I bawled. I refused to wear the rings....it was too obvious now. Memorial day, I was finally able to get my set put back together with my blue diamond. I had them soldered together because it tended to spin, but it helped some. Last week I got tired of it spinning all the way around when I was really cold, so hubby took it in to get the beads put in. It was awesome. The ring fit well, and didn''t move. Last night as I was washing my hands, I looked down and the entire back of the setting is yellow, with a small area that is completely black. OMG! Lets just say I am typing this with my eyes almost swelled shut! So...do you think its just something the jeweler did or did not do right when putting in the beads, or am I doomed to have problems forever? Sigh.

I don''t have any useful suggestions for you, I''m afraid, but I just wanted to say that I hope everything gets sorted out soon, m''dear. Your rings are beautiful! I''m so sorry you''re having such troubles with them.

Your rings are WG, right? It sounds like your jeweler didn''t bother to properly steam/polish and replate the rings after soldering. Lazy and unprofessional on their part, but *easily* fixable - don''t cry! Take ''em in, point it out to them and have them fix it, and then ... look around for a better jeweler.

Ditto to this. So sorry.

Did you ever get the certificate for your diamond? Your ring is very pretty and I hope they can take care of workmanship issues. Pave shouldn''t be that delicate unless you are beingvery rough with your ring. Chances are there is some problem with the way they are being set.
