So, my seamstress told me she couldn''t do the multi-tier bustle because it will pull too hard on the top bustle and might rip the fabric. As in, if there was one at the top, then 2 underneath, then 3 under that, it would basically be putting all the weight of the train on that first tuck at the top, and she was afraid it might rip. So, basically I had no choice other than a french bustle. A little irritated to find this out AFTER she had already made the bustle, but whatev.
But, I''m actually pretty happy with the bustle she did. She made a couple asymmetrical tucks at the sides of the skirt, since the train is so round. She said that those multi-tier bustles work well on trains that are longer and narrower than our train, and I do see her point about that. But I kind of like the little tucks on the side, and the french bustle is a bit fluffier than the other ones I have seen on our dress. I just didn''t want it to look like the dress was just folded under in the back, you know?
Anyway, thought I would let you know what I found out, and post a couple pics!!
