Good morning!

I am wondering if some of the experts out there can give an opinion on the stone detailed below. It is certified as AGS Ideal with zeros in polish, symmetry and proportions. The price is quite good, however the HCA gives it a 2.8

I could certainly use some additional opinions. Thanks!

Clarity: eye clean SI1
Medium Blue fluor.
Table: 57.5
Depth: 62.1

HCA rejects it, and it's old AGS. If new AGS, I would have said go for it.

i am assuming this is an ''old'' ags report?
if you have seen it and love it...and the price is right... go for it.
you are the one that has to be happy!

Does the certificate date matter? It is AGS April 2006.

if it doesn''t have a grade for ''light performance'' it is old.

again...if the price is right and you love it....

Using the DiamCalc software I get an AGS 1 grade on the new AGS system. I would need more information to be absolutely sure, but it seems a little steep and deep. It should still be a very attractive stone, but if you are really into cut quality then you can do better.

Thanks to all! I have decided to pass on the stone. I found an H with strong fluor. and a 1.1 on the HCA. The difference in weight is only .10.

The only problem is that is is from Blue Nile and they offer no upgrade policy. Does anyone know if Blue Nile e-listings are available with other vendors?

Sure. Many virtual diamonds are accessible from multiple vendors. You can see it easily when you do a price search here on PriceScope. Don''t check in-house, and you''ll see the same stone come up a few times with different prices and different vendors.
