I''m in the process of getting an engagement ring, and my budget for the diamond is about 10k. I want a VS2, F or better, and 1.33 to 1.5 carats.

This one looks great to me, and it gets a score of 1.0 in the HCA (i want tons of light output from this baby!)
GIA gives it an "excellent" cut.

Carat weight: 1.41
Cut: Premium
Color: F
Clarity: VS2

Depth: 61.3%
Table: 58.0%
Polish: Very Good
Symmetry: Excellent
Girdle: Medium
Culet: None
Fluorescence: None

I''m curious why James Allen classifies this as its "premium" cut, which is a notch below Ideal, which is a notch below H&A. Is this a good price for this diamond? Thanks!

No clue. Everything that I see looks like it has good possibilities. Have you asked them for an IS image?

For pricing, use the "Pricescope your diamond" at the top of the page to compare with similar stones.

Ask for an IS image.

Here is the diamond page:

Whats interesting is the print link you posted shows a different picture.
I think there may be a bug on the website.
An is image would clear it up

Based on the picture in the direct link it looks like it has a small heart which keeps it from h&a but lets get the picture issue settled before drawing conclusions.

Also the polish is very good rather then excellent.

Table and VG polish are also my thoughts as to why this diamond wasn't classed as ideal. If you want to be sure Hezz, drop JA an email and ask.

thanks guys. I have written to JA asking for IS images, but haven''t gotten a response yet. I''ll post the pics when I get them. In the meantime, I''m open to suggestions for similar diamonds that would suit my goals! (~$10k rock, VS2, 1.33-1.5 ct, F color)
