My budget for a diamond is ~4K and I am trying to get the biggest bang for the $. I will call them, then get it appraised to make sure it is eye clean.

Any suggestions?

I''m recalling this from memory, which can fail me, but I think tension sets are best with a thicker girdle. The one you picked has that. Sometimes an SI1 can have structure issues that aren''t conducive to this type of set. That is something you may want to ask about.

Is this for you?

Thanks for the response!

The ring will be for my (soon to be) Fiance

According to the GIA report, there is a small feather/needle. It is not near the girdle and the Diamond is Eye Clean, according to their Gemologist. I have them holding this one for me. I''ve attached a picture:

Whichever diamond I end up choosing will be indepentantly reviewed and sent to G&A for tension approval within the return period.

I bought a small ACA for my husband''s wedding ring..it was a VS but I would have done an SI had the right one come along.

If there are no inclusions near the girdle and the girdle is not thin then it seem like the stone would be a reasonable candidate for a tension setting.

When I was shopping, I told Brian at WF that this was for tension and had him really give it the good thrice-over to make sure it would be appropriate. So I felt very confident that it would work out.

The stone is fabulous and looks stunning in my husband''s ring.

I would have Brian ensure that he feels it''s a good fit for a tension and when you have it sent to MickyRoof then make sure they agree.

Good luck! Looks very nice by the way. Good choice!

Ahhhhhhhh - beautiful. Seems like a perfect choice......girdle can handle it, and no inclusions around the girdle.

Nice, NICE job!

This is a winner! I really like its proportions, first of all the thickness of the girdle and the location of the SI1 inclusion. Green lights for me!
