Craigslist diamond

Some might not approve since craigslist isn''t exactly the safest or best place to buy but I bought one the other day for a pendant project and wanted to show you guys anyway . I figure it looks good, it''s really sparkley, and it''s not like I intend to upgrade it or anything. Plus for $500 dollars you can''t really go wrong! It was in a square setting I didn''t feel flattered the stone very much, so I had it taken out today. The jeweler had a look at it and weighed it for me too. He thinks G SI1 .58 and it''s nicely cut. I''m actually going to have it looked at by an appraiser too. I figure why not right? It does have an inclusion I can see with my loup but not without it. Here is a photo in the setting I bought it in. I think it would look nice in a simple bezel setting. But it''s even nice enough for a right hand ring. I''m really happy wih it.

For those of you that might be curious I brought it to an appraiser on Sunday. It was not a proper appraisal with paper work and all that but really just a favor she did for me because she''s really nice. She thought I got a very nice deal. It''s .55 SI2 F color. I didn''t get the table or anything but the depth was 60% and I think it''s about 5.31 mm. I''m quite pleased with my purchase since it was only $500 and I would totally consider bying a second hand stone again in the future.

I like the current setting too, though I can see how you would want to do something else with that pretty diamond. But I like the round-peg-in-a-square-hole effect. If it were mine, I would put some other round stone in there.

Thanks guys! I''ve already had it taken out of the setting. I thought it would be better to take it to the appraiser that way. I did wear it a few times though just cause I was so excited about my purchase . I kept the setting for another project.
