They''re buggin the living daylights out of me!!!

1. If it''s before 8:30 am, I don''t want to hear about what you cooked for dinner last night and what time you went to bed

2. If you''ve been to my cubicle 15 times today....that''s too many.

3. Don''t start grabbing all my stuff when you come to talk to me. It''s there to look at...not touch...like my water bottle, ew. stop it.

4. I''m working on my own project so no- just because you are standing closest to my computer does not mean you can "borrow it" to show so and so how to do something.

Ok I''m better, I needed to vent and they all have facebook so I couldn''t do it on there

over and out

Deep breaths and chocolate. Thats the answer

maisie...can i borrow some chocolate? lol

1. I hear ya. Do not approach me with any type of conversation until at least 10
2. I know, obviously I have work to do, why dont they? How do they have enough time to come bug me all day?
3. I agree. I am a touch-me-not and so are my things
4. Sorry, but you are on your own. No one would try an attempt to borrow my computer.

Glad you are feeling better about it now. BTW, at least you can get on facebook. We are locked down. No facebook, no youtube, we cant even shop on our breaks at VS because that is locked down too for "provocative attire". We are not adolescent boys staring at VS models.

Yeah absolutely! That will stop me eating it!

Hey Smurfy, I''d be frustrated too!

I really dislike being bothered when I''m working, so here''s what I do to make sure it doesn''t happen. It works like a charm.
As soon as someone enters your space say "How can I help you?" instead of "Hi, how are you?" or something like that. This tells people you aren''t looking for small talk, and it works pretty well to make them get to the point. If someone particularly chatty comes around, I''ll usually add "I have to make a phone call in three minutes, how can I help you?"

Seriously try it, it will save you so much frustration at work!
(I know you weren''t asking for advice, but I just wanted to share my habit because it''s saved me from a lot of irritation.)

Lol I wonder if it would work for me if the person is a higher up than me

I had to use this line the *most* on my former department chair (my direct boss) and my curriculum director (my boss''s boss.) If you say it respectfully then they''ll just think you''re working hard. Try it!

No advice really. . .just wanted to say sorry your co-workers are driving you nuts. Hope the rest of the day goes by quickily!

No matter how tempted you may be, do NOT fight fire with fire in this situation. That will end badly for you (ask me how I know)!

Just take a breath. Understand that people have different boundaries than you do, and take Haven''s advice and act as diplomatically down to business as possible. Should work like a charm.

Stop washing your armpits! Nobody will come near you then!

hahaha I was thinking you could tell them you have a weird rash and ask them if they want to look and help you figure out what it is! lol

Too bad you can''t put caution tape ( like the police use ) across the opening of you cubicle , meaning enter at your own risk.
Or hang a sign on the outside wall of your cubicle, do not disturb!!!!

My son does that to me all the time. It makes me want to smack him.

I think the best thing to do is this. Everytime someone comes to your cubicle just go ''NO!'' in a big voice. I bet they will give up eventually. Or you might get fired....

How frustrating for you. Can you listen to the radio or MP3 player? Sometimes if people have on head phones others won''t stop to visit.

You don''t even have to listen to music--just get yourself some of those noise-canceling headphones, and you''ll get both decreased sound and the deterrent effect when you wear them

maybe you can burst out laughing while they''re telling you something?

I did this to DH yesterday... I couldn''t help it. he was telling me about his day and about rebooting servers, something I know nothing about, so my mind wondered off to something funny my colleague said two days ago (he misunderstood an acronym and asked "What''s PMS?"; he isn''t a native English speaker) and I burst out laughing. ok, it was rude, but at least DH understood there was no way I could stay interested in something I know nothing about so instead he shortened the story to: "I fixed the problem." ok, that I understood.

Don''t become a manager then - you just described my entire day only not with just my direct co-workers but a large portion of the company I work for!

Lol I feel for your dh. I work with servers too and my dh usually has no idea what I''m talking about. Afterwords he''ll say "sooo.....you had a good day then?" lol

the worst is watching a movie with you techie people when you pick out the stuff (like some stuff the evil computer hackers do) that isn't technically possible AND THEN you try to explain to us why not.

or when there are two of you techies in a room and it sounds like you are speaking a different language...

I was microwaving my oatmeal this morning when I noticed a sign on one of the cupboards. It read "Missing: Cuisinart Sandwich Maker. Last seen in 6th floor kitchen. Also missing: Delicious grilled proscuitto, onion and cheese sandwich inside it."

So...not only did someone steal someone''s lunch, they stole it along with the appliance that was in the process of cooking it at the time!

I shouldn''t laugh cause I would be super peeved, but it''s kinda funny.
