COVID Vaccine FYI

@Gussie and @MamaBee I didn’t mean to throw in any doubtful opinion or speculation with the article I posted. I just thought it was something interesting to weigh. Nothing wrong with arming yourself sooner rather than later with a booster, at all. Let us know how you feel later. You are our pioneering test subjects, Gussie/Pfizer,
Mamabee/Moderna ;)2

Really interesting nerdy fact…to me.. My temp is always between 97.6-97.7…It hardly deviates from that…I took it last night and again this morning..It was the same. I took it a half hour ago..It was 98.6…I think it’s starting to climb like last time. I was fascinated by it. I also
watched it fall on the way down the night after hitting 100.4 during the day. I find this fun..I can be such a dork.

The more information the better @Bonfire! We’re guinea pigs @Gussie!

Mama, don't worry, you'll live!. Like I said I heard one guy already took 4 shots and he's still alive.

The nurse said that the test isn't super sensitive. However, the test line should have been much stronger. I am traveling to low vaccination rate places so I want all the antibodies I can get!

They checked all my records.
They should!. I don't understand how this guy got away with taking 4 shots. He probably use someone else's ID. Idunno1.gif

my younger work mate was a bit unsure
she doesn't keep in good health with immune issues
anyway a dear freind of her's in her 90s had a really bad reaction and is finally out of hospital but has had to go into care

anyway my friend (early 30s) finally desided she'd go get it
her records said she had already had both shots
seems all those months ago when she talked to het GP about it - the GP asked if there was heart disease in her family - but who's family doesn't?
so the doc marked her down as having had both shots so she wouldn't have to have them ?
so now her records say she has had 4 shots
i dont get it ?
even though i dont like the govt they have repeatedly said vacination is voluntary
no one is forcing us to do it and its widely understood some people have medical reasons for not getting it

(and im still mad ive had to wait so long for mine)

im also worried as my name is spelt wrong by the 'vacination dept' and at the vacination centre they said they couldn't change it

Now you can't prove you had been vaccinated.

Yes..We had Moderna..I just got my #3 Moderna! The tech did ask me questions. I answered truthfully. The tech asked me if my doctor wants me to get it. My doctor didn’t know I was getting it..but she would want me to get it. Then the tech asked why..I told her I have an immune disorder..I didn’t say immunicompromised…I do have an immune disorder..Graves…There’s another name for it..Bradow’s. I said that..The tech said okay. I was so nervous…I’m so glad I got it. Now I’ll see what happens as far as reactions.

It’s Basedow’s! I hope I didn’t say Bradow’s..No wonder she didn’t know what it was!:lol-2:

Hahaha I think you said Bradow's. Don't worry, it doesn't matter, you got the third vaccine!

How are you feeling this morning Joanne?
How are you feeling @Gussie?

@Gussie I’m glad you got your third shot. I’m
certainly glad I got mine. My cousin called me from Florida last night. She’s frightened out of her mind. The neighbors that live next door both died of Covid after being fully vaccinated. Another friend who was fully vaccinated died of Covid. She also had another friend in Pennsylvania die of Covid….also fully vaccinated. She called her doctor hysterical and very afraid. He wrote her a note to get the third because she was so frightened..I guess he thought it would be the only thing to calm her down. He admitted to her that he had many patients also get Covid and die after being vaccinated. He told her to stay home and get her groceries delivered. The doctor doesn’t believe the numbers that if you’re fully vaccinated the risk is low. I tossed and turned all night thinking about it.

Sadly the media never mention the fully vaccinated are also dying instead they only point their finger towards the unvaccinated. 99% of the dead were unvaccinated? what a bunch of BS!. At least your cousin's Dr. is being honest about it.

No, they mention this all the time -- otherwise you and I would not know this obvious fact.

The vaccinated and unvaccinated are dying at vastly different rates. Even execrable FOX News now makes this crystal clear -- although they are more focused on mask mandates now as the last bastion of enlightened liberty.

Even the earliest RCT data indicated that the vaccines were 95% protective. No one said they would turn you into Superman and that you would never, ever get Covid-19 and never, ever die.

@MamaBee try not to worry about this. You are vaccinated and you wear masks correctly and you are smart and proactive.

@Dancing Fire Being fully vaccinated gives you a much greater chance at surviving Covid than not being vaccinated. I am not saying this for you as I know you aren't really processing (nor do you care about) what most of us write but instead I repeat myself for those who are reading and might be on the fence.

Getting vaccinated is the best thing one can do to protect oneself against Covid.

"
Studies show that COVID-19 vaccines are effective at keeping you from getting COVID-19. Getting a COVID-19 vaccine will also help keep you from getting seriously ill even if you do get COVID-19.

  • COVID-19 vaccines also help keep you from getting seriously ill even if you do get COVID-19.
  • Getting vaccinated yourself may also protect people around you, particularly people at increased risk for severe illness from COVID-19.
  • Delta Variant
The Delta variant causes more infections and spreads faster than earlier forms of the virus that causes COVID-19. It might cause more severe illness than previous strains in unvaccinated people.
    • Vaccines continue to reduce a person’s risk of contracting the virus that cause COVID-19, including this variant.
    • Vaccines continue to be highly effective at preventing hospitalization and death, including against this variant.
    • Fully vaccinated people with breakthrough infections from this variant appear to be infectious for a shorter period.
    • Get vaccinated and wear masks indoors in public spaces to reduce the spread of this variant. "

I don't think any PSers are on the fence, either they are vaccinated by now or they have decided not to.

Lotta people who "decided not to" have been getting vaccinated to maintain their employment. Now there's conviction! It's like getting up at 6:30 AM -- you may not be happy about it, but that's part of the job.

It's more amusing than sad now to see folks trying to twist their personal and political "beliefs" into their "religion" for the purposes of exemption -- but most institutions have been able to keep up with this.

OMG @Gussie! I was on the fence today about getting the third one. You convinced me to get it. I have Graves which is autoimmune…It‘s not compromising either. I also have some skin immune disorders…Did you have a reaction after your first two Pfizer doses? Will you take another antibody test later to check on the third booster?

I am sorry to hear that you have Graves. I’m currently in remission and have been for a few years but I’m fully aware it’s usually a lifetime condition and could come back. I was SO ill…. deathly thin… bulging eyes, heart rate out of control and major hair loss - so fingers crossed it doesn’t! My sister also has Graves but she responded to treatment quickly and even though I know she must feel dreadful at times does have the appearance of it.
One of my best friends lost her husband due to heart failure from Graves at 42. Heart breaking. I hope you are being looked after by a great doctor & wish you all the best for your health!
I haven’t heard (until a previous post on here) about booster needles but I’m in Australia, or have I heard about the tests to check your immunity. However we have so many people who are still waiting to even have their first injection. Luckily I’ve had my two & I am grateful.

@GoldenTouch I‘m happy you’re in remission..Thats so sad about your friend’s husband. My thyroid was completely destroyed by radioactive iodine. It was supposed to only kill part if it. We think it totally destroyed it.. It’s probably a raisin... I got a little heart damage but I was able to maintain the function. I also had tumors, a goiter, etc. I also developed a thyroglossal duct cyst..I had to have a Sistrunk operation to have it removed. That wasn’t a piece of cake..My eyes are always feeling dry..but other than that..no bulging eyes or anything like that…I was diagnosed in my late thirties. I’m doing okay now…I can’t complain. I hope yours stays in remission.

I had Graves when I was 19 yrs old. I was weak and hungry all day long.

Well, the media I listen to do mention that vaccinated people can die. No one has ever said that they can't. But the media I listen to also notes that 95% of the people in the ICU due to Covid are unvaccinated. And that those are the people who tend to die. So using terms like "never" which is an absolute, is way off the mark. Maybe Fox news never mentions that fully vaccinated can die and if that's the case perhaps some media don't mention it. But most do.

My 2nd Pfizer dose was 3/31 so I am not due for the 8 month booster until early December. However, I have a few trips planned this fall and wanted to be sure I am protected. I had an antibody test this morning and I have almost none!!!! The nurse said that the test line was so faint that she would almost declare I have none. She recommended a booster immediately. So I got my 3rd dose shortly after the test. It is required to be immunocompromised to get a booster. I have Hashimoto's which is an autoimmune but not really compromising. They accepted it as a condition though. The pharmacist said that they accept almost anything.

So, get a test or a booster to be sure you are protected!

I wonder if folks that have auto immune diseases or organ transplants and take prednisone, Methotrexate, anti inflammatory and/ or other auto immune drugs may have suppressed the immune response to the shot? Do immunology doctors tell them to stop taking their meds before and after- if possible- getting the shot to let it work? What if these meds are resumed? Does that suppress the antibodies? It is so complicated.

Of course. That's why they are first in line for boosters.

Out of curiosity I asked my friend who is an ICU doctor at my hospital. She said we've had two fully vaccinated patients admitted to our ICU since January.
One was immune compromised and died of COVID. The other recovered. We are in an area with a pretty good vaccination rate (65% of eligible people is the last statistic I heard).

+ many millions more. Notice the media hardly ever mention it? . Every time when I turn on CNN news they are telling me that I'll be dead tomorrow.

That’s good to know @wildcat03. Of course I feel bad about the person that passed away..That sounds nothing like what my cousin told me. It seems like she’s in the middle of a Covid cluster. She lives in Florida which is really bad right now.

I missed this segment. But it sounds like you should sleep with one eye open until this is sorted out. Do you have any protection? Friends you can stay with? Sad that they are threatening you like that.

You seem to write this over and over and over. Is it possible that you are just imagining it? Is there someone you can talk with about it?

I have autoimmune disease, and my experience was frustrating to say the least. It's complicated because everyone's issues, treatments, and response to the vaccines are different. I know quite a few people with autoimmune issues, and we were all given different advice. I think the doctors are learning as they go.

Can I move into your house?

I hope it never comes back for you! Yes I could eat anything all day long and I couldn’t stay at a healthy weight. People thought I had an eating disorder or a terminal illness. I developed terrible anxiety which apparently is easy to happen because your heart is racing anyway,
