As for my setting I have decided to ask Union diamonds to make it in palladium, to the disgust of many on this board I know. But I''d rather spend my extra money on the diamond than the setting.

No harm if UD says they can create a setting that is of good quality, have you check with them to see what are the expenses involved in the mounting of stone from other sources and if you have to insure it yourself. Just some slight hassle that you should take care of, as stones are known to chip during setting, not common but to play it safe. Also check with Wink if the 1 year insurance that comes with the stones cover the setting process, just with infinity vendors or everywhere.

The HPD stone looks good to me, just check with Wink if the stone is eye-clean to your standard.

Thanks for the tip I appreciate it. I will check on the insurance and mounting prices. I feel Union will do a good job, at a good price, but I wonder if I should check with other infinity dealers, if I am buying an infinity diamond, If I buy a diamond from HP, maybe I should get another infinity dealer who works with palladium to mount it? Hmm..
