You know... I would pass on this one and save up more until I could get something better. ETA: In principle, though, I would consider getting an I1 for a pendant or earrings.

I have seen some awesome I1 diamonds. (I love second hand jewelry stores and bring my loupe, lol). But to spend that type of money on a .5 carat diamond that you have not seen just seems problematic to me. If you saw it and love it then sure- go for it. But otherwise I would take a pass on this diamond.
