I've been looking for a diamond for an engagement ring for a few weeks now. At first I thought the 4Cs were all I had to pay attention to but after reading some more I realized pretty much every stone I had looked at on Calavera was cvd with tons of strain. Since then I've mostly been looking only at HPHT H&A stones since I'm scared I'll accidentally pick a bad one and those seem like reasonable guardrails against that. I'm curious if the IGI H&A cert is really something worth prioritizing or if it's not necessarily important? And now I’ve been reading about blue nuance which I’m not sure I’d be able to pick up on… If anyone would be able to help me look for a few stones it would definitely help ease my nerves a bit, I just want to be sure the stone I pick is beautiful and performs well! I'm looking for a round cut, around 4 ct (maybe 3.8-4.2), D or E, VVS, preferably HPHT but also open to CVD. H&A would be a plus but not necessarily a requirement. My budget would be around $2k ideally but could go to around $3k if that’s not reasonable. Thank you in advance to anyone who took the time to read this!
