Someone told me that researchers have shown the incidence of car female driver accidents increases when they have become engaged because they keep looking at thier rings while driving.

Tell me it is not so.
Because I have been devoting myself to making diamonds sparkle more - that makes me an accessory to manslaughter (or is that woman slaughter).

Look what you've done!

Well, all I can say is that when my ring was complete the jeweler said to me "Keep your eyes on the road" I chuckled. He replied, "I'm serious." So, there must be some truth to it. I've been known to get a honking from the back car for not realizing the light was green - too lost in diamond stareing.

I've been doing a bit of weaving on the road myself since my new ring came!

I understand that Mara's had a number of close calls.

OK, OK, so some of us are not good multi-taskers.

Perhaps every diamond sale should be accompanied by a pair of soft and supple leather driving gloves!!! Huh, Cut Nut?? You could start this trend!

Blaming the diamonds...I don't buy that
It's like suing McDonalds because you got fat!!

If the ring's a distraction
Then put it away
You'll live to enjoy it for many a day!!

You killed my future sister in law!!!!! Just kidding. Yes I do tend to stare at my left hand while STOPPED in traffic, which is horrendous in the bay area.

I definitely believe this one!!

It's kind of like when you SNEEZE and you are driving, you lose control of yourself for a second and sometimes I wonder just how many accidents are caused by sneezing and that split second of eyes closed, involuntary motion....

Or when the sun is setting and it's right in your line of vision as you are driving, the sun visor does not catch it because it's too low..and right in front of your face...and for about a period of 10 minutes if you are driving in just the right direction with nothing obstructing your view of the setting sun....you can't see 20 feet in front of your car. Very frightening. Sometimes I want to pull over and wait it out! Luckily usually I turn off at some point and the sun is behind me rather than in front, once again rendering the road visible.

Looking at rings, distracted by sparkles, rainbows...yep that gets me sometimes too.

It always seems to happen in a gentle curve, a slight turn of the wheel when,... FLASH all over the ceiling of the car!!

And at stop lights too!!

The car is one of my favorite places to admire my diamond! In fact, hubby has made me quit trying to make him look and admire except for on straight, uncrowded roads.

something about going to kill us both.........

This is so true.
I am really particular about the way my rings sit on my finger, so I am constantly checking them out.
I can't help but glance over my rings whenever I am driving or in a car. There is this one area when I am driving to work under a train track station and a few times I have been tempted to bring my camera with me and just stop the car and start taking pictures.
I don't know why, but I think my diamond looks great under really low light conditions. In particular, the area I am talking about. You can clearly see the arrows, and just a hint of rainbow colors.
Once, at this area, I didn't even realize the light had turned green until someone honked at me to go.
