We found a stone but the vendor doesn''t have it in-house....your thoughts please?
I thought this stone was okay because in past threads about stones with more fire, Storm mentioned something about the LGF needing to be higher for GIA certed diamonds.

0.84ct F-VVS2
6.05 - 6.07 x 3.77mm
Depth: 62.2%
Table: 55%
Crown: 35.5''
Pavilion: 40.6''
Star Length: 50%
Lower Half: 80%

Would the crown angle be too steep? No ASET or anything like that from this vendor unfortunately. If we want to see it we''d have to put a deposit and most likely won''t get it back, which is why I''d like all your thoughts please!!

Numbers looked ok to me. What is the girdle variation?

Girdle: Medium, Faceted 3.5%

Is that it?

ya, that''s it. Everything looks good to me so far from the numbers.

Good Luck. :)

How much of a deposit would you need to put on the diamond, is it a smaller amount like a shipping fee?

Unfortunately no, I''d have to put at least 20% down because they don''t have the stone in-house. If I don''t like it, then they would use that credit for another stone, but otherwise, it is non-refundable. I would be stuck with just this vendor and these stones are few and far between.

That''s why I''d like to hear what everyone thinks!

Could u look for it on line, there are so many good sites, and give you the exact information !.
I thought the benefit of buying it from a shop is that you can physically see it before making a decision...
Not if you have to pay 20% non-refundable deposit.
Doesn''t sound handy for me.

I am still looking online, but to be honest it''s cheaper to buy locally. No shipping/duty/taxes, which there would be with Pricescope vendors. I found one I thought I liked with a pricescope vendor but the wire fee FX rate/shipping/taxes/duty put it WAY over budget! =(

This is the ONLY stone I can get locally that actually falls within the AGS0 lines on the HCA.

*bump*

Would really like some insight please!
