So do I win "oddest thread title"? :D

My light Columbian emerald + pink spinel ring is finished!

Here is a tease before handshots in a few days! It was fabricated by the kind DanielM who was pretty speedy and always courteous.

It's a lightish toned Columbian emerald which is approx. 4.5x8mm (and was my first LT purchase from the kindest woman) flanked by two of Yvonnes 2mm round pink bubblegum spinels set in 14k rose gold.


This ring made by Yvonne was my inspiration but I wanted to do it in reverse! Haha
I think I accomplished that as her spinel is much more tantalizing than my melee but my emerald IMHO stands out much more than her melee :kiss2: So it kinda evens out!

A big big thanks to ALL the gals who voted on my gemstone orientation thread! Voicing a predicament here has always lead me to the most insightful answers and I'm truly happy to be apart of a community that houses other gemstone geeks!

I will always remember this ring, My "Mermaid Bubblegum" ring as an amalgamation of the community; as my ideals when it comes to gemstones have changed so much!

Heres a photo that was taken midway in the process! Ive always found it all so interesting!

It's gorgeous!! I love the carving and the color combination--so unbelievably pretty. I'm not generally a rose gold girl, but OMG I'm totally on board with it here! Love it! :love:
 
Wow! Your ring came out absolutely gorgeous! I love the carving on the band and how it sets up a Victorian vibe that perfectly suits the vertical emerald.

Thank you all for the sweet compliments! :kiss2:The ring arrived yesterday but when I got to open it, it was dark outside and I couldn't accurately capture what I was seeing in person whatsoever.

So, I waited till' morning and Im glad I did because this emerald has been the most difficult to photograph so I took a bajillion photos for you all! Its so moody on film and does all sorts of funny things!

Im so in love with my mermaid bubble gum ring though and I'm in awe that I own such a colorful baby. :cry2:

Without further adieu, here she is,

These few were taken in indirect sunlight under my patio and are the most accurate in terms of color and what I see most of the time which is such gemminess.

This one was taken in direct shaded sunlight and I think It accurately captured the metallic quality of the emerald.

These next ones were taken by my pomegranate tree in direct sunlight. Oh how this emerald loves direct Sun! So-so glowy!

(P.s. Please ignore the yellowing on my fingertips- I have been giving away all of my two large bushes full of pomegranates but theres still so many and opening them and eating them does that to my hands!)
