Your views on cottage cheese?

With canned peaches (NOT the heavy syrup kind) and salt :lickout:

I like it with applesauce on top.

It is not quite food, but it is good at binding ingredients together for stuffing pasta :naughty:

I love cottage cheese and DH thinks its gross. I dont care what the curd size is. I also like it with fruit. I will eat it plain. MMMmm its so good really cold right out of the fridge.

LOVE cottage cheese! DH can eat a single tub in one sitting if I let him...

I prefer it with fruit, pears especially!

I have a strange relationship with cottage cheese. When it's good I love love love it and can eat it all day - with fruit, with tomatoes, with pepper... and when it's even average I HATE it - it's gross. The only one I can rely on *somewhat but not always is knudson's in the pink container. I can eat a whole thing of it straight out of the box. If it's fresh. If there is any sour taste at all - even slight - I can't even touch it. Gag!

I feel the same about milk... I was in heaven in ireland where milk is concerned...

I go through phases. Sometimes I love cottage cheese and other times I'll avoid it for months. Not sure why. Anyway, I like fat-free, small curd, cottage cheese with blueberries and crackers on the side.

My favourite brand makes it with gherkin throughout it, and it is YUM. Tangy and delish, and it grosses just about everyone else around me out completely. But I LURVE it! I eat it for lunch most days. :lickout: :lickout: :lickout:

On my butt? No thanks. :knockout:

For eating? Yummmm! :lickout: I usually eat large curd with some berries in it, but I will eat it plain also.

I don't think I've purchased cottage cheese for 2+years! Funny, because I used to love it. I like small curd with either fruit (pears, peaches, or mandarin oranges) or with sliced tomatoes and salt and pepper. Yum. I think I might have to grab some on the way home from work today!

I love cottage cheese.
I have it, nonfat small curd, probably 3 times a week.
I use it plain as a dip for crackers.

All of the dairy products at Trader Joe's is made from cows that never get growth hormones, yet somehow it is much cheaper than the regular dairy (which has hormones) in any supermarket.
The supers charge a fortune for the diary with no hormones.

It is a great healthy fast food for lazy folks.

Small curd with pineapple bits and cheerios. Really great mix of textures and flavors, and a great power snack before workouts.

Small curd with a little salt and pepper, and plenty of it! I eat it several times a week.

I like it, and thankfully my 3-year old very very picky eater son likes it too. It has a lot of protein in it!

I've tried the little cups in the grocery store that come with fruit and I just can't deal with it, I think it's the lumps just yeck. I stick with the greek yogurt with fruit, much better to me.

I wish I could eat it because I know it so good for you, but I can hardly stand the sight of it and honestly, the word "curd" makes me want to vomit!!!

I don't know what my aversion is. Well I do, it is definitely a texture thing. And I won't even go with the next association I make :nono:

I really would love to get over it though, anyone successfully overcome a repulsion of the stuff?

have you tried blending it smooth and eating it with fruit to get attached to the flavor first so you can deal with the texture later?

I like it with peaches or grapes or tomatoes or pineapple or bananas... with or without pepper. Mostly with pepper - even on the fruit!

I really like cottage cheese, but only certain brands.

However, I can't STAND it with fruit. I know I'm in the minority on that one. I like it alone, or on the side of a salad at a salad bar.
