Went to Costco today for 4th July supplies... saw that asscher again. It''s so bright and pretty. Of course... it''s clean...lol.

Here are the specs:
GIA cert 11/21/2005 Cert #32385042

1.52 G VVS

6.76 x 6.57x 4.19 (ratio 1.03)

Girdle: Medium
Polish/ Symmetry: VG/VG
Fluor: None
Table 65%
Depth: 63.8%

Price 9,889

Ok, just back away from the jewelry counter and take a deep breath!!!

You know we would never let you buy an asscher from Costco, right? Because even if it was fabulous (including based on Storm's standards) you could still almost certainly get a better deal from a PS vendor on something similar.

I appreciate what you're going through (I once bought a bezel set diamond pendant from the Zales OUTLET) but just go sample some of whatever goodies they're giving out tidbits of today and sereneity will set in soon.

You may look. You may drool. You probably shouldn't touch. And you MAY NOT BUY!

(But if you do buy we expect pictures IMMEDIATELY, LOL!!!)

I recently purchased an asscher through WF and these are the specs they gave me to go by in my search.

Table: 58-65%

Depth: 66-69.5%

a 1.5 carat should size up somewhere around 6.5 x 6.5 mm

Of course, like everyone says, you have to see them in person. WF had a beautiful 1.57 that they said was nicer than the one I ended up buying and it was more than $2K less than this one at Costco. So shop carefully and have fun looking!!!

It sounds beautiful! I''ve never been a fan about step cuts but there''s something beautiful about th eway those well-cut asschers play with the light. That being said, I''m still learning but I think I remember one of our asscher experts (probably Storm) saying your depth should be greater than your table. The numbers here are very close, but I think with step cuts you want a bigger depth to get that really intriguing deep look from face up. Sounds like wonderful eye candy though!

Depth is fine actually and I like the spread. Honestly WF's depths are too deep for me.

63-64 is not shallow at all. My current asscher is a 64 depth with a 60 table-- which is a 'sweet spot' in terms of numbers. The table of the Costco asscher however is too large IMO compared to the depth...but It looked so pretty to me that I didn't mind. Side by side with my asscher it did look like a G... but, well mine is a high F and I'm color sensitive. But the hint of warmth didn't bother me at all. The size is so yummy!

Dee Jay, I KNOW.

And it's not like costco (or my fiance) would allow me to trade up or consign. And VVS is too high. Mine is a VS1 and that's just fine. It's in my price range (consignment plus setting budget) and it's BIG, though...so I was just allowing myself to dream. So pretty.

Girl - you KRAZEEE!

Dreaming of a NEW asscher after spending so long dreaming for *anything else but*??

Wha happened to OVALS? CUSHIONS? CANARY DIAMONDS??

I can''t keep up

I think Costco is piping some kinda loopy gas into that place to make people stumble out with 20 lb. jars of mayo and hot-tub-sized cartons of Goldfish crackers.

I''ll blame the loopy gas, not you ..

off square and the table is a little bit too big.
If the depth isnt because of a low crown 63.8% is kewl.
But with the 65% crown im betting its a little too flat on top.

Deco... FI doesn''t like ovals. And I have been looking at cushions online-- just for umm... research reasons...and I actually *have* a canary cushion picked out
20.gif
. It''s spreadier than my 1.09 asscher... but it''s 1.06... and the price is great-- I''d be able to get a beautiful setting for it. But he LOVES asschers. So I have a feeling that if I *am* able to talk him over to the darkside it will be for another asscher.

But for now he''s at the ''baguette halo'' at any cost phase. There was an EC with a pave halo in the case at costco as well and while I was looking at the asscher... he asked to see the EC and is like... "look how big the halo makes this EC look, honey!" I carat emerald... and he was right it did make it look bigger.

Oh good storm! I knew it wasn''t storm worthy. And if I do buy another I have promised myself it would be a storm worthy one.

Now that it''s confirmed... the fantasy is over. Which is good. Loopy gas seems to have disapated. WHEW!

Oh drat, that pesky FI

.

Jus joshin' ... I loved that DBL canary cushion 3-stone for you. Yesterday ... seems so FAR away ... Or maybe it was a couple days ago! Long Weekend has me mixed up.

If the choice now is between your current stone in a bag halo & a larger Asscher in a simple setting ...

I know what I'd pick (cause i kinda did) ... FI's leaning halo ... where are you coming down THIS INSTANT?

I just found out that many fancy-colored diamonds are listed with videos on Michael site...

I must be blind ... I couldn't find any way to get to fancy colored stones on the scheider site? I looked at Advanced Search & Basic search ...

I know Gypsy's GOOD ... but, geez, her computer works better than mine now too!

ETA: never mind ... it's a sep. search entirely ... going to the FRONT page, rather than other's links helps!

Oh geez ... did you see this one, Gypsy?

Or this one?? I know radiants aren''t really your thing, but this one looked more orderly than most .. almost princess/cushiony ... thought that Asscher-luvin'' FI would like the square shape w/emerald sides

I won''t even mention the SCRUMPTIOUS one and two carat EMERALD CUT canaries I saw ...

You know me too well Jade. Yes, I''ve asked him to find out how much he thinks I can get on consignment... but I was very honest with him about my situation and that I just want to know what all my options are, though I probably will never excersize this particular option. My asscher is very good quality though, so he has no problem consigning it for me.

Pretty isn''t it Irinia? Serious RHR potential. I''d do two cushion sides with the same cut style but in DEF color in one of the STUNNING basket styles I''ve seen people have on here. YUM!

This is the canary cushion I liked... it''s too small for me... but it is pretty. It''s cut in one of the two cushion patterns I like. It''s spready cause it''s a bit shallow.

Nice finds Deco... and you''re right about that radiant not as crushed ice looking as most and actually very pretty. I don''t like the settings though. Leon three stone with his delicate claw prongs. YUM! He''s got a great selection actually. I like the radiant better than the cushion in the three stones you posted. I''ve found out that I actually don''t care for the majority of cushions cuts out there. There are only two cuts styles I like.
