Cost for two .12 OEC''s? Do most VS2''s and SI1''s match easily?

I just got a quote for a loose pair that is 0.25 points total weight, ''about H color and VS2-SI1 (clean) clarity.'' for $250. Does that sound about right?

I am a little confused by the VS2-SI1 thing. My quote was for an exact pair, so...why is the clarity variable? Unless one is VS2 and the other is SI1, but wouldn''t you just state each separately? Do most VS2''s and SI1''s match easily?

I''ll forgo answering the price question, but happy to help on the highlighted portion.

Yes, most VS2 and SI1 stones do match easily because they''re likely hopefully still both eyeclean. The differences are hopefully measurable but not discernable.

Keep in mind that you can''t just order something that is no longer in production; finding OECs is like a needle in a haystack, and finding them to match makes that exponentially harder.

When matching OEC stones, it''s most important that they have similar (not necessarily *exactly* the same) dimensions and personalities.

Thank you Allison!

That makes a lot more sense now. So does that mean that ''all'' OEC''s are ''antique''?
