DH and have about 7-9 days coming up in June and we're trying to figure out where to go using some miles...

One of the places that is coming up as a great place to visit in June is Chicago, and it looks like the best flight schedule for us right now.

Problem is, DH doesn't seem too excited about Chicago...I just think it wasn't on his mind. So I want to get him excited about it! anyone from the Chicago area that can give me some reasons we're going to love Chicage? :appl:

Navy Pier! The museums, art institute, house of blues, diamond district, cubs/sox games....There's definitely plenty to do! You can also take boat rides and see the sky line and stuff, it's gorgeous! There's a lot of fine dining and clubs too...Shopping on michigan ave, the drake, ritz carlton...there's a ton to do!

What's your husband into? You could tailor a day around his interests. Sports? True crime? Ghosts? Music? Give us some details, I'm sure we can come up with lots of ideas to make the trip more exciting for him. (I lived in the Chicago area from 2001-2008, and still visit occasionally.)

Chicago lifer here! Tell me your interests and I can suggest loads of things to do. June is the perfect time to visit. The lakefront is glorius! Plan to eat lots of amazing food-Chicagoans are big on food. Blues bars, comedy clubs, shopping, museums we have it all.

I live in Chicago too-- we have some of the best restaurants in the world! If you give me some hints as to what types of food you like I can steer you to some fabulous diners/sandwich places all the way up to super fine dining!

DH and I were just in Chicago for the weekend a couple weeks ago. We went there to see an auction (read: I dragged DH there so I could see some diamonds). The city was awesome. We both love seeing new cities, so just that aspect of it was thrilling. So much cool architecture, so many different neighborhoods... Lots of good food too, and it seemed like the nightlife was quite vibrant. Your DH should definitely get excited for this trip :))

Thanks so much everyone!

I won't be needing this after all, because instead, we are going to TURKEY!

We are so excited - I'll probably start a new thread about it since I know some of you have been there.

So far, these are our plans (this is all in June):

Friday early pm: arrive Istanbul
Stay in the Sultanahmet area
Monday early am: arrive Cappadocia
Wednesday early am: leave Turkey, go to Dusseldorf and spend our day/night there (so we can be in place for our flight early the next morning)

I know it's not a lot of time, but I am hoping this is a good itinerary for the time we have.

What do you think?

Any tips, advice, ideas, welcomed! 8)
