Considering this diamond, thoughts? (.83 E SI1)

Please help me, I am so lost at this!

The issue with the stone you had selected is that there is not enough info available to make an educated assessment.

Here are 3 stones that are close in price to the stone you had linked.

.72ct, H, VS1

Assuming you are okay with those color options, these are stones worth considering!

What info is missing? Could I follow up with someone from BG and request the info? My apologies for asking for some hand holding here, but I am a total moron at this whole deal.

Don't apologize about this - you are trying to become more educated on the subject and that should never be frowned upon!

The stone you had linked is not one that they actually own, but one that they have access to. This is a virtual stone that may appear on multiple vendor websites, since it is not owned by any of them. Once a vendor orders the stone, it is removed from this virtual database.

BG would have to call the stone in, and then examine it, providing you with the data you need to make a decision. It's possible that they may charge you for shipping, if you decide you don't like the stone.
