Hi all...I''m considering the following stone:

Price: $12,937.00
Report: EGL
Shape: Round Ideal Cut
Carat: 2.08
Color: H
Clarity: VS2
Depth: 62.1
Table: 57
Girdle: TN-
Polish: Excellent
Symmetry: Excellent
Culet: None
Fluorescence: Faint

Do the experts out there have an opinion as to whether or not this is a good value? Any red flags out there I should be aware of? I''m looking for maximum sparkle...will this do the trick? Thanks in advance!

EL doe snot call any diamonds 'ideal' - what makes this stone so? Excellent symmetry does sound good, for what it is worth, but the proportions of the cut (crown and pavilion angles or height) would be more important factors for the look (light return, fire, scintillation...) of the stone. Would it be possible to have these data on the stone (a Sarin report would give them) or have it's light retturn asessed otherwise ?

This concern left aside, there is nothing off in the available data. Usually EGL gradede stones are somewhat less expensive than GIA certified ones, on the grounds that EGL grading is less strict than GIA's. There is no way to tell wether this aplies to your stone. I would consider this of only marginal importance, however. The stone could be easily inspected by an appraiser during the return period, if the precission of grading is under question I think.
