I am considering a Round Brilliant GIA G VS2 3X stone with the 58 Table 59.5 Depth, 33.5 Crown and 40.8 Pav . Do you think this stone is too shallow and would it appear darker than a deeper stone? It scores .9 on the HCA chart and receives all excellents on that chart. It is being shipped for us to look at. I have already sent one stone back because it was a GIA G VS2 with a black carbon crystal visable with the naked eye from the side view. It is over 3 carats and a big investment so I want to be sure I am getting a wonderful stone. Any thoughts?

I will bump this for you but I am not sure what that would look like. I know a 34.5 crown angle is more optimal for a 40.8 pavilion angle of 40.8. Do you have pictures of the stone or an idealscope image?

For 3 carats, one cannot be overly picky with the numbers.

It should be very nice. The numbers do not predict darkness.
