Hello all-
I am new to diamonds and new to pricescope. Hoping to find some advise on 2 Canadian stones that I am considering purchasing. I need the stones to be a matched pair. These are the specs:

Stone 1 Stone 2
Princess Princess
1.03 Ct 1.03 ct
5.37 x 5.37 5.56 x 5.56
Crown Angle 47.9 35.8
Crown Height 14.0% 9.5%
Pavil Angle 38.9 61.6
Pavil Depth 56.5% 59.4
Table Size 71.3 % 71.2
Total Depth 74.3% 71.6
3.99 mm 3.98 mm
Clarity VS1 VS1
Color E E
Table off 0.2% ?
Culeet off 1.2% ?

Would these stones be considered Excellent or Very Good cut?
The wholesaler grades the stones ( I am purchasing from a retailer) to GIA standards. Should I have an independant appraisal or is it standard procedure for wholesalers to grade their own stones?

The price is 10,300 Canadian dollars for each stone.

Any advise would be helpful
Thank you.

Hi Dino

We really need images such as detailed photographs and ASET images of the diamonds in order to tell which is the best cut, are these with an online vendor?

Do I take it the diamonds do not have a GIA lab report? If not then you definitely want to make any sale final on these diamonds checking out with an independant appraisal, with it specified in writing that you can return them should they not be as sold.

Are these for earrings? Also you can lower both colour and clarity if the cut is great without visual sacrifice, especially if these are intended for earrings.

Hi Lorelei
Thanks for your reply. These stones are for 2 seperate rings, but they must be similar in cut / value. I believe the current information is a Canadamark Diamond Report - not sure. Can wholesalers do a GIA lab report, or do the stones have to actually be sent to a the GIA lab in the states ( excuse my ignorance - its all new to me) Also, where would I get ASET images done? I guess if I request my retailer, they will contact the wholesaler and make arrangements.

These diamonds are not being bought online, but at a store in a small northern town, therefore no independant appraisers nearby. Again, is it normal to request the wholesaler to provide an independant appraisal before sending them?

Thanks again,
Dino
