Where in your life(not just political)are you either liberal or conservative?
For me, I''m a moderate in my political views, very conservative with my money, liberal with my time watching to much television, very conservative with using salt but liberal when it comes to eating too much junk food and sugar.Liberal in allowing others to live their life as the wish and have friends from all walks of life.Have conservative and traditional religious views.Liberal with giving time to friends and family when they need support or help(this can get me away from the television!),conservative when it comes to trendy fashions(more of a pinstripe suit and blue jeans type of guy),but find fashion liberals interesting. What are you?

I lean toward conservative in politics.

I am conservative when it comes to money.

I would be considered pretty liberal (by my conservative friends, lol) in my social views. In most of the "big" political hot topics I lean left.

Conservative with my child.

Very conservative when it comes to drugs, yet totally fine with social drinking.

Generally liberal views on sex.

Generally conservative views on overtly sexy attire.

Liberal when it comes to you live your life, I'll live mine, so feel free to dress like a hooch, sqaunder your money smoking crack, and let your child run wild. Just stay away from me please.

Ooh I like this question. I''ve never thought about this before, let me see . . .

I''d say I''m pretty liberal, in general, both with my views and my lifestyle. Well, maybe liberal isn''t the correct term--what is it called when you live your life *differently* than the mainstream, in many ways? (Example: I don''t take traditional western meds, don''t frequent western doctors very often, don''t buy food that isn''t ethically raised and slaughtered, that sort of thing.) DH and I often feel like we don''t fit in here in the US. What does that make us?

Otherwise:

I have tattoos and a lot of piercings, most of which I don''t sport anymore, but they''re still there. (The piercings, that is.) I''m drawn to subcultures where self expression is emphasized, even if I don''t actively participate in them, I''m a fan.

I support a lot of progressive movements, specifically those focus on human rights.

I''m a member of and love my NPR.

I''m a public educator, and I''ve worked very hard to make it my professional mission to serve non-traditional students who have been failed by the system in some way. (I teach developmental English.) We also focus all of our reading and writing on issues of social justice.

I take full advantage of the multi-cultural experiences and opportunities available to me. We go to a lot of performances and exhibits and talks and whatnot that explore issues and experiences beyond our own.

I suppose I''m very conservative when it comes to a couple things--minding my manners, and training my dog.

Extremely liberal politics. (Fiscally, socially, etc) Yes, I''m aware I was born in the wrong country.

Conservative about drinking/drugs. (For me personally, don''t care much what others do)

Liberal views on sex (i''m sure you are all aware of this already)

Conservative in dress/makeup/piercings/tattoos.

Moderate with money. I try to save, but I have no issue spending it when I want/need to.

Liberal politically
Much too liberal with money for my own good (thank goodness I have FI to keep me in check)
Conservative in dress
Liberal with religion

And like pinkasscher, sick of gay people in this country being treated like second class citizens. Whatever happened to separation of church and state?

*fairly liberal politically
*liberal socially
*conservative with money - unless spending on others then liberal
*conservative (I think?) with food - only eat meat socially and if it''s ethically treated, won''t drink milk, buy from farmer''s markets etc
*liberal with my dessert intake
1.gif

*liberal when it comes to fashion
*conservative with drugs I don''t even take asprin! Yet liberal with alcohol
*liberal when it comes to animal rights

I definitely have a little bit of a hippie in me - except the drugs part

Mostly liberal on everything. Often I have to keep my views quiet because many of the parents where I live are conservative (or the ones who aren't hide that fact). Once a mom, who goes to church and even has invited me to a few events there, blurted out a bunch of detailed talk regarding sexual positions, which through me for a loop. lol It's so hard to tell what people are really like around here because everyone is trying to keep up an "acceptable" front so I kinda fake it just to make sure I fit in. (if I didn't have kids, it would be different, but since I do, we need to get along with everyone! Not offend neighbors.)

The only "conservative" aspect I have is how I dress. Just jeans and simple sweaters. Nothing wild or crazy.

In my politics? Well, I like Condoleeza Rice, that maybe I'm not completely liberal?

I'm kind of moderate when it comes to money. A few years ago when I had access to the Bank of Daddy, I was liberal. Growing up sucks. On the other hand, I'm the type of person that would give another my last dime, so maybe I'm still liberal.

I'd prefer to be more liberal with fried food, but my DH is a cardiologist, so you know how that one goes.

Liberal when it comes to religion in that I don't practice, but I do have a lot of traditional views.

Conservative when it comes to sex. I think the word they use is vanilla. That describes how I feel accurately.

Conservative manners. I open the door for women. I say please, thank you, no ma'am, yes sir, etc, etc. I can set a fabulous table and I know what each utensil is used for!

Liberal in my taste of music even that I'm a classically trained pianist.

I play tennis and I hate it when Rafael Nadal picks at his butt, so I guess that makes me conservative? Seriously, watch him, it's so gross.

In terms of clothing, I'm preppy, which is considered conservative. However, I bought a pair of jeans with holes in them last month. Yay for progress! Kidding, umm, I don't believe one can't wear white after Labor Day, so that makes me liberal.

This one time, when I was in band camp, err, I mean Vegas, I had shots of Grey Goose. I proceeded to kiss a girl, and guess what, I liked it! Verdict, sorta liberal on alcohol.

I think drugs are stupid. However, marijuana might as well be legal and TAXED to DEATH. Of course I've never even seen marijuana before . . .

Conservative when it comes to television. Liberal when it comes to blocking the internet for my kids.

I''m a Christian by religious persuasion with a degree in theology (interpret that how you will).

i''m conservative when it comes to family and child raising.

i believe in universal health coverage, social security, charitable giving - BIG charitable giving, volunteering, the cancellation of third world debt, restructuring the world bank and the use of global resources.

i am pro gun control.

i am pro environment and anti logging.

i am a feminist and would give a lot to see the perpetrators of domestic violence receive considerably harsher penalties.

ditto drug lords (like - are we even TRYING on that one??) i hate narcotics - they destroy lives.

i used to smoke intermittently, but haven''t done now for some years and never will again.

i barely drink, but collect fine wines.

i am anti the death penalty but pro castration for child molesters and rapists.

i will respect your beliefs if they''re different to mine and so long as they hurt nobody.

but i will not budge from mine and feel no need to defend them.

I like this question too and how responses here show that we''re a complex bunch.

I''m:

(1) very socially liberal. Do whatever you want (drugs, sex, rock n roll) and believe whatever you want so long as it doesn''t hurt others. However, I have little tolerance of those who elevate their POV above others or seek to impose it on others.

(2) fairly fiscally conservative. I''m all about having money in the bank and living within one''s means but we spend a lot of discretionary money on dining out and traveling.

(3) pretty much a pacifist.. is that liberal or conservative? I don''t see the need for a standing military, though I feel conflicted sometimes because I''m in favor of using some force to quell human rights abuses.

(4) fairly conservative when it comes to myself (I don''t drink or smoke, have never done drugs, dress modestly, practice proper manners/etiquette, etc.) but very liberal when it comes to what others do.

(5) I''m not a parent yet but judging from my relationship with my dogs, I''ll be a fairly conservative with my kids. As Cesar Millan says, there''ll be boundaries, rules and limitations!

(6) conservative, I think!, when it comes to the environment. We recycle everything we can, try to limit our use of disposable goods, and try to buy organic, sustainable, and humanely raised food.

I don''t *think* I have any conservative values or opinions, but I suppose it depends who you''re sitting next to.

i hate it when any group is treated without respect in a community or country.I have to mention one group that is rarely reconized and that is the many people who have disabilities...either phyical or mental. This group never gets the support or discussion it deserves.

I''m moderate in my political views, moderate with my money, liberal with my time with friends and enjoying life (i.e., too much sugar), liberal in allowing others to live their life as the wish and have friends from all walks of life, moderate in my religious views, and conservative when it comes to fashion. Also more on the conservative side of moderate when it comes to drinking and partying. I''m not a night owl.

I''m politically very liberal, moderate with my money, conservative with who I trust, moderate with my health (I eat junk but I work out pretty regularly), liberal with my travel budget, as liberal as I can make myself with forgiveness, moderate in my personal lifestyle but liberal with regards to everybody else''s (I don''t care what you do as long as it doesn''t affect me), conservative with risk, conservative in giving my opinion to close friends, conservative with talking on the phone, and liberal with love.

Hahaha I did too!!!

I'm politically liberal in almost every way, but I'm very conservative with my money - the more I save, the more I want to save! I'm liberal in my social views, but I would say I live my life fairly conservatively, actually - I dress pretty conservatively, live in the suburbs, etc. However, I'm not afraid to be different and applaud others who are the same. I also have a bunch of piercings in my ears, but had to take them all out for work
39.gif
if that counts
2.gif
I'm also liberal with the food and the alky-hol!

I was just thinking about this the other day, actually. My political beliefs lean towards the left, but I live my own life very conservatively. Funny how that happens.

I''m incredibly liberal with my salt usage.

OMG I love salt. I need to be more conservative with it.

Let''s see, more liberal politically and financially and moderate socially. Actually a lot of my conservative friends make me cringe. Moderate with affection, conservative with compliments (sorry hubs
3.gif
), completely conservative about drugs and cigarettes
14.gif
but I do like to drink, though I hate drunk people because they''re annoying!

Let''s see how I turn out.

I''m pretty liberal about religion. I''m actually undecided? Myself. I believe in God but in a different way than most Christians so... meh.

I''m pretty liberal about social lifestyle - you can do what you want so long as it doesn''t affect me or my own.

I''m a bit conservative about money

I guess I can be viewed as conservative with relationships (not in the same sex or diff way, but in the how things should be approached way. I don''t make the first move... that''s his job. He should act the gentleman and open doors etc.)

I''m liberal in my home living... if the dishes don''t get done tonight it won''t kill me. If you want to watch some tv show I don''t care about, so be it. But you will eat my cooking.

I tend to be a slightly conservative dresser. I''ve always had issues with letting loose enough to show much in terms of cleavage. or too much leg/tummy. I used to hate bikinis.

Ummm I am pro gun
I am pro abortion
I don''t agree with same sex marriages but do believe they should be able to legalize a partnership in their own way.
I''m anti health bill
I''m pro hunting but love animals (don''t care if it contradicts itself
Ummmmmmm

I think I just generally fall into the weird category.

Um..
Religion, I have my own views, I''ll talk about them, but I''ll never foist them on someone. I don''t believe in the Flying Spaghetti Monster, but I think it''s funny and I''d wear the shirt.

I don''t feel people should be able to do whatever they want, whether it affects me personally or not. For instance, cocaine, should people snort it or..whatever they do with it otherwise, no, I don''t think so. It doesn''t affect ME if some freak in Delaware is out selling it to kids, but I would be of the mind that people who do that need to be strung up by the toes. I think people should be productive members of society, not some people are and foot the bill for those that don''t give a crap.

If you want to be gay, bi, straight, whatever, I don''t care. I think people are born a certain way and I don''t see how someone could "fault" someone else b/c they weren''t born a specific way. I get irritated when people throw religion into it and it brings to mind a quote I read in the beginning of a book along the lines of "A fanatic does what he feels God would do if He knew the facts of the case". People throwing out verses and screeching that God wouldn''t approve are ignoring a couple pretty important things about doing unto others and judging not..Besides that, I''m pretty sure there isn''t a perfect person on the face of this earth, much as I like to think I''m pretty dang cool, I''m not perfect and I do believe people tend to forget that while they''re busy fire and brimstone-ing everyone else.

I rarely drink, but I figure if people want to drink, I don''t care, just no driving.

Pro gun, pro hunting/fishing/trapping. Pro fur. Pro choice, tho I am a bit of the mind that if you want to partake in sexual activities, you need to be a big kid and protect yourself and it should be a big deal to terminate a pregnancy. You didn''t accidentally take your clothes off and mess around in bed, so yeah, you didn''t accidentally get pg.

Very liberal w/the swear words. Conservative w/clothes. Liberal w/the tattoos. Pro death penalty, and if the crime concerns babies/kids, then I tend towards "let me do unto you as you have done unto others and I''ll do it w/a big grin on my face".

Liberal w/husband. He gets to do pretty much whatever, whenever if he chooses. Except salt. He got the kibosh on that. Moderate w/the kids I guess. They don''t rule the roost but they get away w/more than my brother and I ever did.

Liberal w/my music. Some heavy, some not. I like to bang my head and rock out..but I also like to close my eyes and listen to Beethoven.

Liberal w/junk food/candy/coffee drinks even tho my last blood work came back as "walking heart attack". Not smart of me.

Liberal w/words too. I''m a talker. Or..rambler as the case may be.

I don''t think I''m necessarily a "greenie" but I think people should treat the planet properly, don''t wipe out species, don''t use up all the resources.

Where in your life(not just political)are you either liberal or conservative?

Political views: Mostly liberal, moderate in a few areas. Moderate with my money. Conservative in dress. Liberal with alcohol after a hard day.

I''m liberal politically/socially. I''m very crunchy when it comes to lifestyle. I have 10 tattoos (and counting) and my nose is pierced. Going to get a Monroe piercing again (had to take the first one out). It sometimes feels weird to like/wear diamonds and fine jewelry as most in my circle are very modest and not into that stuff.

I rarely visit the doctor. Big into TCM and herbal treatments. I''m for decriminalization of MJ. I''m sort of liberal with money. Good thing I have DH to keep me in check at times. My parenting style is crunchy (homebirth, extended breastfeeding, co-sleeping, cloth diapering, etc.) I''m pretty modest as far as clothing goes. I wear what''s comfortable.

When it comes to religion, I''m a heathen/apostate/relative metaphysical atheist.

To the bold, I would have NOT guessed that at all. At least from what I know of you through these boards, which is very little.

From what you list in the first paragraph you seem crunchy.

Conserve...unless we are talking...CHOCOLATE. I believe in Moderation, as long as there is lots and lots of it!

PS....Haven, our dear sweet, thoughtful, kind, dainty, feminine bride, the reserved proper etiquette HAVEN is pierced and tatted? I need chocolate, this is just not computing.
