Confused with wedding band shopping

I'm trying to figure out the best ways to try on a variety of wedding bands and where to ultimately buy one, but I'm coming up short. I got my fiancee a 2+ct cushion cut halo pave engagement ring, custom from Engagement Rings Direct (we live in the city). She expects to want an eternity style diamond wedding band, but we're not sure the specifics or size (width) and would like to find somewhere in the city to try on a variety. Does anyone have any suggestions?

Well, I've gone to my local Tiffany's and tried on 6-8 of their diamond band rings... I told the sales representative up front that I was looking for just the right band for my ring (and I was wearing only my engagement ring), and he was very helpful and patient while I tried on each of the bands that I was interested in. I did go in after work one evening rather than on a weekend, and there was only one or two other customers in the store at the time. If it had been busy at all, I might have decided to limit myself to just trying on my top 3 or 4 picks.

Thanks! Good to know that worked well. I was actually thinking of somewhere like a Tiffany's to get a feel for a variety of rings. The after work idea is great too.

I'm not sure where you live, but if you're just looking for STYLES of wedding band, around here they have a Jared's and also a Robbins Brothers. Those places have really big selections of wedding bands. I would probably try different ones on at a place like that, then order a better quality one online.

Thanks. I live in Manhattan. I'm sure there are some of the bigger chain stores, so it sounds like those may be best for figuring out the basic style.

Does anyone have feedback on places worth looking into in NYC when it comes time to buy? Or is it better to do one of the online sites like Blue Nile?

I don't know why I didn't suggest this before, but if you're in NYC, then go to ID Jewelry in the Jewelry District - they have a ton of different diamond bands and if they don't have exactly what you want, they can get it made for you in your preferred diamond quality, etc.

My thought too
