Confused on GemAdvisor

I just used the GemAdvisor Software on a diamond that I am looking at and the results seem like they contradict with the grading that is listed.

They say that there is "excellent" light return for this stone but when I ran the software it came up with a reading of .88 (Good to Very Good) for Light Return Mono and .89(Good to Very Good) for Light Return Stereo. However, the contrast was "Excellent"

The brillancescope labeled it as
High-White Light
VeryHigh-Color Light
VeryHigh-Scintallation

I''m confused on the differences in output of these two things. I read about both of them and still don''t really grasp why there is a big differnece in the readings. Any help??

yep its a very fiery stone and not the brightest one around.
Some people like them that way.

GA uses ray tracing information based on face up and also results from tliting the stone, which Bscope does not.
Bscope counts pixels.

hard question:
both yet neither.

The bscope isnt a natural lighting envirement and your diamond isnt bits on a computer file. With a helium scan the GA file gets close to reality but with sarin files there is more error.

Both give you an indication of how it will perform and can tell you about the personality of the diamond.

I have the Helium Report, how along with the GA report does that give you a more realistic overview of how the stone will perform?? The helium report is so detailed and I don''t really have a good idea how to use it. Thanks for the help

the GA file can be based on the helium data or the sarin data.
I believe due to size reasons he is still basing it on the sarin data.


interpretation of the helium report is more than im up 2 for tonight.

Me too, and I sell Helium.
Death by numbers.

The simplest thing is to look at the ideal-scope image in GA, or on the site - for rounds.

Fancy shapes are harder.
But i suggest making an ASET movie in GA and compare it to other moviies of not so good stones.

I have just made a not so good stone for an example as an attachment to this post.

I made a GA video but I couldn''t figure out how to save and attach it. But from what I saw it seemed like the GA video of the idealscope did not seem as good as the pic above. It looked liked more light leaked of the GA video then it does in the pic above. Is that typical? Thanks

However, the GA video was far better then the bad one that you attached. Thanks for showing me an example of a bad one.
