1.90 Carat round diamond
This True Hearts TM diamond, 1.9 carat K color vvs2 clarity has ideal proportions and a diamond grading report from AGS
Hi,
This diamond has medium fluoresence but does it look cloudy on the video. Thanks in advance.
No, it does not look cloudy. The medium fluorescence most likely doesnt have any
effect on it but you can ask JA if you are concerned.
Did you get the AGS report so we can see what the VVS2 is based on? Please post it.
I'm thinking that SA is smoking something!![]()
I looks like a fully transparent diamond. The depth of the K color seems exaggerated. Likely, in real world lighting, the K color won't seem so readily apparent. The video isn't a great sales tool for this diamond, but does appear even more than honest on the color.
The SA was more than helpful but did they give you the right (correct) info?
Are they saying that the Med Fluor is causing the stone to be cloudy/hazy?

The grading report is 3 years old, that could be a concern because this stone might have been pre owned and traded it in for an upgrade. Either way the report is not recent...
@Edie —if you’re not set on JamesAllen, and willing to drop down a bit in clarity and pay a few hundred more, you can get a much better upgrade policy for a similar diamond at WhiteFlash.

I have not personally done business with WhiteFlash, but based on various posts here on PS, customer service seems likely to be much better.

Hi again Miss Marple. I had another look on Whiteflash and this diamond is a reasonable match. Unfortunately I don't have all the info I need as the cert is from 2004.....I can't do a HCA check on it. Is it possibledo you know, to get a more recent certification done? Another poster mentioned that old certs can be a concern.
Do you have a report and photos of your current stone that you can share? Thanks Miss Marple. No, Im not set on any vendor but I have backed my self into a corner! I am looking for a diamond to match a J diamond with strong blue fluoresence (Not at all cloudy...a beautiful diamond) to make a pair of stud earrings. It has really narrowed my field though and this diamond did seem a reasonable match in size, table and depth, medium fluoresence etc. Granted it is a K colour but I was hoping the match would be close enough. Unfortunately, Whiteflash diamonds usually don't have fluoresence.
You dont need to run HCA on super ideal cuts. But I would email about the cert. The concern isnt that grading changes but more that if it's a stone someone traded in then you want to make sure there is no damage or anything
Well. @Edie having trawled JA, B2C, BlueNile... I think the stone that you found is the best match! The combo of flourescence, 8mm size, and painting is apparently rather rare - the one you found is both the closest match AND the least pricey of all the options I shortlisted to compare!
I see that it's no longer available. Did you put it on hold?
Agree with previous posters re. Potential haziness. Misinformation from JA sales reps is unfortunately not uncommon.
