Today I got my finger sized at two different jewelers. At one place I was sized to be 6.5, and the other sized me at 6. The 6.5 place used a wide ring sets. The second place''s rings are of normal width.

I am going to choose a thin band for my short fingers. I wear PS size gloves. S is too long for me. But I am going to move from northeast to southwest next month. My finger size will grow a bit in the hot climate.

So the question is, what size should I order now?

Can you wait until you move to see how much your fingers swell?

How loose was the 6.5 on you? As long as it doesn''t easily slide over your knuckle, I would do with the larger size.

Ditto, I''d go with the larger size as long as its within a half size.

My fingers are chubby. The biggest part on my finger isn''t the knuckle. it is the meaty part between the knuckle and the base. I found the width of the band really changes how much resist the ring has. With the wide ring, I feel I can wear anything between 6 3/4 and 6 1/4, but with the normal width ring, I don''t feel any resist with 6 1/2.

You will always get a disparity on sizing when they use the wide ring sets: every time I''ve been sized, I have them do with with both the normal and wider sets: and ALWAYS need a larger size for the wides...the wider rings go furhter up into the fleshy part of your finger.

I have a couple of channel set eternity rings that I wanted to stack: had to resize one 1/2 size up so I could stack it with the other one. It was too tight otherwise.

I would suggest you go and have them size you again, and have each jeweller use the same sizing set, to try and find some consistency.

I would wait to see how your rings fit when you move. During the summer my rings are always tight because of the heat. When they base your ring size on wider bands they will be a larger size than when they use the smaller width bands.

I would say go with the larger size especially if your with your moving situation. As long as the larger size will not come off your hand, then it''s a good idea to get that one.
