Anybody going to any good concerts this year? Hubby really wanted to see Roger Waters, but we might be moving in the near future.

I wanted to see Lady Gaga, I know she''s strange, but I like some of her songs. Plus she reminds me of early Alice Cooper. Like a crazy show with music.

How about you? what are/do you want to see?

You have GOT to see Lady Gaga. She put on the best show I've ever seen and I've been to a ton. I was geeking out so hard that my sister was making fun of me and I was hoarse from screaming.

I don't have any shows on my calendar, actually. I don't really like going to them anymore now that I'm old!

Unless it's someone I LOVE I usually won't go see them.

We are going to see Ringo & Friends in July at Radio City. We recently saw Southside Johnny and the Asbury Jukes at BB King''s and had a blast. In Oct. we are going to see Celtic Thunder {yes, I AM a Thunderhead}. We recently also saw John Prine.

We''re going to see Kiss in August. I''ve never seen them play before, I hear it''s a great show.

Tonight seeing the 2nd local show of the week, tomorrow the 3rd. I''m already exhausted.

I''m really hoping to see Brad Paisley with Easton Corbin, but it''s a touch and go based on funds.

Thing2of2...if she comes again, I definitely want to see her.

Monarch64...even if you don''t really like the music, it really is a fun show. We went and I just had a blast. Got to see the original members with all their make-up.

Sounds like some good concerts for you guys!

Yay! Good topic, and yes! Lots of good shows this summer!

-Widespread Panic at Red Rocks next weekend
-Blues Traveler at Red Rocks on July 4th (CO tradition)
-Phish @ Telluride, CO! Aug. 9 and 10
-Further in September (Phil Lesh and Bob Wier from the Grateful Dead w/ friends)
-Roger Waters playing "Dark Side of the Moon" in November

Our concert list to date. More to be added, I''m sure!

I was going to go see Simon and Garfunkel next month. But today, I just found out the tour has been postponed due to illness.

Hopefully, they reschedule! I was so looking forward to that!!

AEROSMITH!!!! They are coming to Houston on August 5, but I can''t go....it will be outdoors and I can''t take the heat.

I talked DH into seeing them with me years ago and they were AWESOME!

Lori

I saw Alice in Chains a few months back. It was nice.

I don''t go to concerts very often anymore.

I really wanted to go to Lady Gaga but decided I just didn''t want to deal with it.

I''d love to see Roger Waters btw

Have seen Aerosmith, Blues Traveler and KISS.
All excellent shows.

Would like to see Lynyrd Skynyrd before I die or
they do.

Looking forward to Journey''s tour in 2011.

Have no idea who Lady GaGa and Roger Waters are.

We recently saw ''Massive Attack''. Best. Show. Ever. Concert was standing room only - but, we were first row!

I LOVE OUTDOOR CONCERTS!

We live within walking distance of a great summer concert venue, and we go to a lot of the shows there. We try to avoid the giant headliners because the place (and our town!) become a zoo and it''s just not fun anymore. But, we always sit on the lawn and bring our little concert table and wine glasses and tons of food and have a feast on the grass. I LOVE IT!

We''ll probably head up to Milwaukee for a couple days of Summerfest next weekend, too. I can listen to almost any live music if a) I''m outside, and b) in good company.

Haven,

You would LOVE our outdoor concert pavilion....I used to before I got Lupus. We used to sit on the lawn and have a blast. Rain or shine...it was all good.

Lori

I''ve never been much of a rock/pop concert-goer, but the Goo Goo Dolls are playing for the 4th of July celebration here in Philly. I used to love them when I was in high school, so I might go and have a nostalgia moment (a.k.a. feel really old).

DH and I wanted SO BADLY to see Arcade Fire and Pavement this year but both are within days of my due date.
39.gif

I don''t usually keep up on concerts too much now. I used to keep track on who would be coming. My friend and I were huge music lovers back in the day.

Sometimes I miss the days of going to concerts and just having all night fun. Now I think, what time does the main band come out. More importantly, do I need to take a nap before going out.

Whatever, DF! I big puffy heart Simon and Garfunkel!!! I have their CD in my car right now!

Haven - Ditto on Summerfest. That''s always a lot of fun. I haven''t gone in a couple years now, but I''m going to try to make it at least 1 day this year. I have to go google who''s playing.

They cancelled their show here indefinitely as well. First postponed it, then cancelled

I saw Art Garfunkel perform solo a few years ago. Beautiful! Although his voice just isn''t what it used to be...

I''m with you lori. I absolutely refuse to sit outside in the heat (with no air conditioning) trying to tolerate horrible humidity, and I also can''t take the humid clammy dampness at night. I tried that once and I got so stiff from the Fibro that I couldn''t get up and walk to the car afterwards. We miss a LOT of great people and groups at the Jones Beach outdoor theater, but I just can''t do it anymore.

We saw Kenny Loggins already this year and as usual, he was great. I''m an old Loggins & Messsina fan. I was going to get tickets to see Adam Lambert, but then I found out that it was a general admission "standing room only" concert at the Nokia Theater and I nixxed that idea. No seats? Are they kidding?

I''m looking forward to the Canadian Tenors coming to town. I HAVE to hear them live!

Looks like we have the same taste in music! Seriously though, if you ever have a chance to see MA, DO SO! I couldn''t believe my ears when I heard they were touring again. It''s been, what?, 7 years since they had a tour in NA??? Sadly, no Tricky or Elizabeth Fraser...but we did have Martina Topley-Bird and the rest of the crew. The show was just so charged - the music, the lights, the graphics! Also, heavy political messages throughout the show. I have to say, the show was better than any Radiohead show I''ve been to, so that''s saying something!

I want to see The Flaming Lips too! But I believe they''re here at a bad time for us. Also, BSS is from Toronto, so I''ve seen them perform live for FREE like a million times! I also wanted to see Metric, but they''re performing the same day as BIL''s wedding. Boo.

''The National'' just had a concert here last week and I''ve heard it was great. I''ve never heard of them or their music. I think some downloading is in order!

I LOVE SIMON & GARFUNKEL!!!!
I saw them during their Old Friends tour back in 2003, and loved it so much that I tried to buy tickets for the following night but couldn't find anything affordable. It was one of the best concerts I've ever attended. Seriously. The Everly Brothers were the opening act and they were great.
I saw Paul Simon up in Milwaukee a couple years ago. That was amazing, too.

I''m sorry you can''t enjoy it anymore, Lori.

P.S. I''m Lori, too.

I really want to see Ani Difranco in concert.
And I''m super bummed that the Indigo Girls aren''t playing Ravinia this year.

Believe it or not, Journey was one of the best shows I''ve ever seen. Besides S&G of course.

I am going to see Gretchen Wilson later this summer. Her music always cracks me up and puts me in the best mood! I am already planning my outfit for the show. Also, there are always lots of fun country stars at Cheyenne Frontier Days, and this year, one of my other favorites is featured: Sugarland. I may be going to that show as well.

I have lots of music I like, but country shows are some of the most fun, IMO.
