this thread is bizarre! I can''t wait to find out what the word is! Decadent? Hedonistic? Try a thesaurus maybe? Hilarious...hope someone finds the original thread, or maybe the OP will see this!

This is driving me crazy--what is the word????

Primadona ?????

Ordinarily, I would not correct the poster, but since she is into language--as I am--I thought she would appreciate knowing that the phrase is "I''m at a loss for words" not "lost for words."

Either phrase is correct. I have never corrected a poster, but I felt it necessary in this case.

I am at a lost for words would be incorrect.
I am lost for words or lost for words are both proper phrases.

Interestingly, here's a great book about the history of the OED.

Very cool. Thank you. I had never heard/read that variation. Maybe it is a north/south or american english/british english thing. I appreciate the correction. Sorry to hijack.

This thread is hilarious! Come on PSers your good at researching, find the answer!

I was thinking the same thing, it must be regional.

Words are so fun, aren''t they?

I just remembered this thread and had to come back to check. Did the OP ever find the word???
