Hi All,

I made a purchase but I was looking around after and came across the HCA Tool and became a bit nervous/paranoid about my order. Hoping I can get some help on whether I should change my order. I purchased the 1.215 ct directly below and it scores 2.0 Very Good HCA. Would something more like the 1.146 ct F VS2 (HCA 1.5 Excellent) on the bottom have noticeably better visual performance as the HCA score suggests?

Also, I'm worried that this is a visible inclusion on the VS2 that I chose, see red circle in image here: http://members.shaw.ca/imagepost/diamond/inclusion.jpg

Okay, first of all, you don't use the HCA on AGS0 stones. :)) It has already been deemed ideal for light performance by AGS. Second, a lower HCA score does not mean the diamond is any better than a higher one when the score is 2 or less. It just means they are both in an optimal range! There aren't any poorly cut ACA's that I have ever seen. They are among the top cut of all round brilliant diamonds so you cannot go wrong!

You are not going to see that tiny inclusion when you see the diamond! Think about that diamond being under 7mm in diameter and you can maybe imagine how tiny that inclusion really is!

Stop worrying...you picked a great stone!!! :appl:

Thanks for the reply.

I am just obsessive about getting the the sparkliest rock that I can and reading some posts about AGS0 stones that score low on HCA got me worrying, and still does a bit.

Whiteflash has those stones in house so you can always call have have them inspected. But they are both going to be stunning. The HCA is a useful tool but is just a prediction of performance. The ACA stones from Whiteflash have been carefully selected. The idealscope and asets are provided which are much more valuable than the HCA tool.

Here is a write up on the HCA that I like. It's from goodoldgolds website.
