Hey Valeria, that ACA 1.73 only got a 1.7 on the HCA with only one Excellent under light retrurn and the rest Very Good. All others got Excellent on the first 3 and only Very Good on Spread. Think it makes a difference?

Thanks,
-Brandon

Brandon,

I really know where you are with this pending purchase! I was there recently myself. Sometimes it seemed like it quit being fun and got a LITTLE too stressful!!!

Try not to let that happen!

Anyway, keeping the newest 1.73 contender out of the pot (for NOW, anyway!

) I just wanted to chime in and state my agreement w/ something Magnum said, in particular re: VS vs SI clarity in that size stone. If you get the green light from the vendor that the SI stone (ANY of them, actually) is in fact completely eye-clean, (and you follow that up with an independent appraisal and of course your own two eyes!), then I would be thrilled and that would settle it for me.

BUT... like David said, the VS clarity is nice, and may be well worth a few extra hundred dollars for a little additional peace of mind, (especially if you or your sweetie have Eagle Eyes!

) So, with everything else SOOOO close, it may come down to that.

Keep us posted!

Had to chime in here on the WF stones. I, like Mara, would rely on Brians expert opinion on the stones you are considering. We purchased a WF expert selection stone and 4 WF ACA's for the side and my ring is simply stunning. The expert selection stones, as explained to me by Brain, are stones that should have been ACA's but due to WF's very strict grading missed by a hair. They are a way to get a wonderful quality stone and save a few dollars along the way. Honestly, either way you go you will be more then happy with a WF stone. Brain is the master at hand picking quality pieces.

PS-attached are the pictures of my WF ring for comparison.

Thanks for the input everyone. Well, I think I'm going to go with the WF 1.6 VS2 I. I'm going to first call Brian to see if he has any other finds that may suit me better, but if not, I'm sure I'll be very happy with this one. Once I get it, I will take pictures and then go ahead with the HoF comparison and take more pictures there. Thanks for the help everyone!!

Thanks everyone! Now I just wish I could pick out a setting! At first I was going to get the sleek lines platinum(like a cathedral) from WF. But my girlfriend has never worn a ring in her life so I sent her to the jewerly store to look around for "fun" and she mentioned something about a ring with "diamonds on the side". So I'm guessing she likes baguettes. Any recomendations?

Thanks,
-Brandon

Hi Brandon! Just a quick note to say that "diamonds on the side" may be lots of things besides baguettes!!!

A ring can have almost ANY shape of diamonds "on the sides"... you might want to see for yourself what exactly she is thinking of! You've come too far for any less than 100% satisfaction now!
