I joined just about 5 years ago and post periodically when I have questions but I think it's time to officially say hi :wavey:. Hello to my fellow diamond/jewelry lovers! I am someone who comes to this site daily yet I've been too shy to introduce myself. Silly I know, you guys are such thoughtful wonderful people! It was that WF why I love pricescope post that made me want to come out of the shadows.

About me: I am a professor of physics/material science. I love diamonds and gemstones (especially antique cuts) and always have! One of my favorite books growing up was one on different gemstones. I'd look through that for hours! I have a 7 month old baby who makes me laugh daily and an incredible husband.

I love that you're a Physics prof!
So get this. I loved Physics I - Mechanics. Never grasped Physics II, yet went on to major in EE to please my parents. Still don't get it and can't crack a book on it without dozing off. :doh:Such is life.

My poor parents had to wait soooo long to be grandparents. I know we normally share pictures of our bling but here is a picture of my little guy from a few months ago
