Well, my old best friend the W-2 came in the mail today, for better or worse that is!

Any plans for your tax return $ or are you planning to save it?

My husband is using his for a new plasma tv in our basement. Mine is going to an LOGR setting for my garnet.

Whatever is left from both of ours will be going to vacation savings.

I don''t get a tax refund anymore but if I did it would go towards my last credit card.

I kind of doubt we''ll be getting a refund anymore, but if we do it will go to our vacation that is coming in a couple months. We are already save pretty hard core so it should go to something fun!

I have NO idea what my taxes will look like this year. In 2009 we got married, I graduated from school and started making student loan payments, I went through 3 months of unemployment, my husband changed jobs 3 times and had unemployment, we moved to a new state, and have other expenses that may be deductible. We are so NOT doing our own taxes this year.

If we get money back it will be going towards bills accumulated during said unemployment times. *crosses fingers*

Since we put all our money on the mortage and maintence expenses for our co-op I am rpetty sure we''re getting one this year:-) It will go toards finishing some reno work in our coop and into savings.(depending on how much we get back, perhaps I can swipe a little for my 5-stone fund though--I''ll have to talk to DH

I try to get our taxes to come out as close to even as possible, but if we do get any $$ back, it''ll go towards our 2010 estimated taxes.

It''s going in my savings account. I''m anxiously awaiting my W-2s so I can get started!

We''re not going to get refunds.

I'm in for a big refund because of the first time homebuyer's credit!

However, a drunk girl driving a big truck totaled my car last week (it was parked and I wasn't in it so I'm a-okay) and I'll probably end up putting some of the refund towards paying off whatever car I end up buying. I'm too used to not having a car payment so I don't think I'll be able to deal with one! (Plus a car payment would cut into my clothes buying habit and I definitely can't have that!

My husband and I were considering putting the $ towards installing central air, too, but we haven't decided. It'll get saved until we figure out what we want to do with it.

Oh, jeez T2! I''m glad you were not in the car. Must have been a surprise to find your car in that condition. (Sorry to thread-jack.)

I never get a refund, I always end up owing the state and federal government a few hundred. That''s ok with me.

I really hope we''re getting a decent return this year. Last year I was W2 half the year and 1099 the last half, plus we own a business. It was the first year I had to pay taxes and it HURT. I''m game to be back to refunds this year- we''re both W2 and I told DH that business had to cut us a check for whatever amount that income dropped our refund. We''ll use it to seed our vacation fund. That''s generally what we do with refunds. Forced savings all year so we can go someplace really cool.

when I see this post every year!

It''s going to bills and our ering/wedding fund...and maybe a new TV if he is good.

We have investments so our refunds are into the 5 figures usually... but we are mega boring and slap it all straight onto the mortgage. *yawn*
6.gif

Probably a new bike...and some shoes!

First priority is building of savings.... (target $5000 this year)

2nd priority is paydown of mortage... (target an extra $6000 this year)

Mixed into/onpar with the 2nd priority is the spending of $$$$ on various items.

My tax return will not do any of those items by themselves; but, those are the priorities for me this year - and where the money will go.

Have a great day....

bills/ wedding stuff/ me

In that order... ;) ;) I hope it''s as large as last year!

Glad you''re ok, T2!!!

If I get a refund, I''m putting it into the wedding fund!

It''s like jackpot day for me here! I just got a refund check from our escrow account- we refinanced and that escrow account was closed. It was nearly $1500! I will almost be okay with a tax refund not being great with this check.

Mine will be paying for the rest of our photographer and DJ. FI will be paying for our basement remodel.

Thing - Sorry about your car. . .glad you weren''t in it!

Well, I did my taxes last night and all looks fine. Hopefully everything is entered correctly. Since I use to work as an accountant, chances are I messed everything up

Haven''t even balanced my checkbook in about a year. lol

I try to get mine to be as close to equal as possible. Why let the IRS keep your money for a year when you could be using it? So far looks like we''re getting $500 from federal, and owe $450 to the state, so just about even

We will be buying stuff for the new house and setting some aside for the mini-vacation we plan to take this summer to Vegas

I''m hoping to snag a little bit for my baby ring, too

We WERE going to put it towards remodeling our bathroom (long overdue, replacing the floor and putting in a sink vanity), but I broke my tooth. All that and then some is going towards fixing the tooth

. Another year of no gemstone/jewelry-buying. Can you tell I''m bummed?

Ah, that sucks! We just lost our dental insurance because my husband quit his job (to work for himself again) and I was talking to a friend and she recommended having dental work done at a dental school rather than at the dentist. Supposely, it's just as safe and you can save quite a bit of money.

Going off topic for a sec... I have friends who just finished dental school and they highly recommended the school for cheap dental care. Of course they were also getting experience.. but there is a dental instructor (i.e. dentist) there at all times supervising everything. At the dental school by me though there is usually a line in the morning of people ready to get their work done, so I would call to see how their appointments work!

As for my tax refund.. It''s been about the same every year since I graduated college.. So.. I''m planning dividing into three parts.. one for foundation repair (yippee??), one for savings, and one for my graduation present for myself fund!
