Colored diamonds

Hi all, are these worth anything? I'm not familiar with colored diamonds. I sent the ring to the lab and came back as between 0.57 and 0.63 CT, Old European Cut, Fancy Light Brownish Yellow, VS1, untreated. TIA!

This may be viewed as an unhelpful reply but….

If you are happy with the ring and what you paid, then I wouldn’t worry about what the actual value is. I always feel like if the item checks out as sold and it was a good deal then that’s all I can ask for.

It’s so incredibly hard sometimes to find comps.
a lot of stones/rings like these don’t have lab reports to even try to compare apples to apples. (What lab did you send to?). Visual appeal also hugely matters in pricing with OEC - so just comparing stats doesn’t work.

im not sure if fancy light brownish yellow (colored diamond) gets you in a higher price point then a lower alphabet yellow non fancy?

All diamonds have some value. I don’t believe these would be graded as fancy - they look mid range (o-p type) which would be less valuable than white and fancy diamonds.

The cut looks good, the diamonds match, the clarity is nice. It’s a nice ring but don’t buy because you “want a fancy diamond” as these are not. But ignoring labels, if you like it and the price is right it’s a pretty ring.

You can check and compare at Leibish and at Rock Diamonds website(the name escapes me now). If the stones are correctly graded the ring is worth some money. Its pretty. Annette

I own a fancy light yellow 51 pts si clarity and was appraised at 1900 10 yrs ago. Appraisals are not to be taken seriously as the value is almost always overstated, but its 10 yrs old so worth something.

The term "Fancy Colored Diamond" has a widely accepted gemological definition.
The stones in the pic appear to be "colored" to an extent, but not enough to be considered "Fancy Colored"... although now I see a lab graded them....may I ask which lab?

Also curious what lab you sent them to. @Rockdiamond is an expert in colored diamonds so I would trust anything he says.

I believe it does not.

My friend Rock would know better, as he frequently deals with Fancies. Light fancies are a whole different category. If you were dealing with a blue or a red light fancy, then you would be talking serious dollars.
