Just wondering if anyone has any opinions on this. I''ve had my ring for about a month now and I look at it every day and it my diamond looks white all the time. Is this good or bad? It does sparkle, but its a vs2, G in color is it suppose to look so white???
i''m not really sure what you are asking here re: a white look. it''s kind of funny though because in another thread, a consumer is saying his H is too yellow...so it was kind of ironic to go from that to reading your post asking if your G should look so white.
anyway...do you mean there isn''t much color going on IN the diamond in terms of fiery sparkles or similar? could be your cut quality of the stone, aka if you have more of a white brilliant type stone it could be lacking some fire. or did you just mean the color as in the G color of the stone looks very white?
or do you mean like a milky white look inside the stone? that could be something entirely different (or cut related too). there''s lots of ways to interpret a ''white'' look, so can you give more information and/or pictures???
Hey Mara, My stone has a lot of sparkle and Brillance. What I mean is that since its a G I thought it was not suppose to look so white or clear. When I look throught the stone no matter what kind of lighting I''m in it looks very clear, I can see through it. I was just wondering if thats a bad thing? I tried to take a pic of it, but they don''t come out good, I think it might be the flash. It''s a Leo diamond and I''ve read all the forums on here on Leo''s so I was having second thooughts at first, but I decided to keep it b/c it looks very pretty to me and I am constanlty getting compliments every where I go. I just wanted to know if being able to see through my stone b/c of how clear it is was this a bad thing? Thanks for your help and I''ll try to go outdoors today and take a pic, maybe it will come out better out there w/o the flash
A G colored diamond should look pretty much colorless and no it is not bad for you to be able to see through your diamond. The stone should be clear. Your stone sounds very pretty and we would love to see a picture of it. Try using the macro mode for close up shots without the flash to see if you can get your pictures to come out. In my experience you have to take a lot of shots to get one or two good ones!
well leo diamonds are very beautiful, i have seen them at the local stores and they are pretty well cut, they have extra facets so the look of the stone is a little different than your average RB cut...but i found them very lovely (just too expensive for a branded stone)...the sparkle they have is what i call ''more chaotic'' than the typical RB cut with the traditional # of facets...in terms of it looking white, G is a near colorless grade but it should be pretty darn white...i had a G and i thought it was blazing white.
i get the best pictures in diffused lighting aka outside but not in the sun, in the shade but a bright day outside, or on a windowsill inside near bright light but not direct sun...i find those are the best ways to get photos where ''see'' inside the diamond rather than getting all the sparkles that come through in sun and flash etc. good luck!! we''d love to see your stone.
Thanks for the info everyone. I think I got a pretty good picture today while I was in the car. As soon as I upload it I will post the pics. Thanks for all the advice.
It depends if you like that look. Again, it''s personal. Leo''s do have an appearance of more "broken glass" transparancy. I think you are reacting to the cut not the color.
