significantly? I don''t think so. More so, possibly with a "J" but not an "I"Date: 6/24/2007 10:42:16 PM

I am in a long process of finding the perfect ring. I have one question about color....I am going to be purchasing a diamond in the 2 carat range. Would the color I show up significantly in a ideally cut diamond(like a WF ACA)? Thanks for any and all input.
I am a huge fan of the price differences too.Date: 6/24/2007 10:49:40 PM

I can safely say that for smaller diamonds, it won''t show up unless you''re very color-sensitive. I''m honestly not sure for 2cts. My guess is that it probably won''t show up significantly from the top, but you may see some color in the profile.
I''m a HUGE fan of I color diamonds because they really bring the price down, and I can''t tell the difference from H to I.
Thanks for the laugh. I can picture my future wife saying something like that. Knowing my luck I need to order it 2 months in advanced. The only problem is once I spend that kinda of money I want to give it to her right away to show off.Date: 6/24/2007 11:05:27 PM

You had better order it in advance. Order it at least 1 month in advance if possible, so you have time to send it back. Get your money back or complete all requirements for an ''upgrade'' and get your new stone and look at it and send it back also if you have to. But for sure, you need to have it in your hands a good 3 weeks just so you can have time to look at it and do everything you need to if you have to send it back. It''s online...and your engagement ring..the risk of messing up and having to admit (''Oh, I know it is yellow...I am sorry...Yes, I bought it online'' You can imagine the shaking hands from the common folk when they hear this) is just too severeespecially when you can get it worked out guaranteed with ample time.
Well, from first hand experience of seeing the 3 to 5 carat ACAs at WhiteFlash in person, we never dreamed it would be an I colored stone......it was so white. We honestly thought it was an F color stone. The ACAs face up white really well.Date: 6/24/2007 10:42:16 PM

This is a good point. We recommended an H stone to a guy one time and he ended up very unhappy with it. His girlfriend''s sister had a D or E and he just felt the H looked yellow. So it''s all relative to the individual, really.Date: 6/25/2007 1:03:15 AM

Maybe you need to make sure that none of your girlfriend''s friends have big D-F stones. Because, in such a scenario, with evil fluorescent lighting, the difference could be obvious. This is highly unlikely but granted that the public only really understand colour and clarity...
Many PSers like strong blue fluorescence which helps to undercut yellow. Just make sure that this doesn''t give it a murky look.
