Colombian Emerald, is it wasted on a pendant?

So I looooooove my Squirtle ring. It gives off poor man’s Victoria Beckham energy and I’m very satisfied with it being my ring.

I’m toying with the idea of adding a Colombian emerald to the collection. It’s not a great dream or anything so I’m not going to look for anything huge. Just 2+ carats.

Will a Colombian be wasted in a pendant? I really want a pendant (actually essential for my wardrobe purposes) and am thinking I probably don’t need more rings, especially delicate ones that need a supporting Rummage Ring.

So my options are:

1. Inexpensive largish Zambian pendant and maybe a small Colombian ring later (would like one but know a big one is impossible so kinda chilled about it if it doesn’t happen)
2. Small Colombian pendant, minimise spending and setting costs and just add that to the collection to avoid buying excess stones. This would work as the kids at school are wearing costume emerald pendants so I’d fit right in with a smallish tasteful one.

Now I saw GeorginaR’s large emerald pendant and it looked awesome. Obviously I can’t afford it so would have to go large Zambian if I go there. If I choose well it can be glowy enough.

Any thoughts wise CS folks?
