Coffee Science for Geeks

The rarest way to make coffee is the "fleet" way.

Ultra-finely ground coffee. Two teaspoonfuls of coffee, one teaspoonful of sugar. You slowly drip cold water on top, really by drops, and rapidly mix this all into a thick muddy concoction, with foam on top. Then you slowly add boiling water.

Half of the drink is coffee foam. My favorite.
Next favorite is Turkish.

'Fleet' ! NOTED.

I always make Turkish ... Often with cardamon.

My favourite is the V60 drip - heaped with a tasty Ethiopian Yirgacheffe, medium roast  mmm

Thanks for the link Kenny. It is all about the chemistry and physics. I love coffee but I am not a connoisseur in that I love it as much at home as at the gourmet coffee shop.

Last night I watched Shark Tank and it had an interesting coffee segment. Just like for bagels the water is critical.

the capsule contains the perfect amount of calcium, magnesium, and sodium that will take a gallon of de-mineralized water and turn it into the best water possible for your favorite coffee beans."

I can only drink hot coffee that was cold brewed.
