I don't buy any hand sanitizers.

I cut up paper towels into little squares, soak in 70% Isopropyl Alcohol. seal in zip lock bag, keep in pocket when I'm out and about.
It's a zillion times cheaper ... and, thanks to pearl gems, just found out won't kill me.

That's very smart. My parents do the same thing, except instead of cutting paper towels they use cotton balls, and instead of zip lock bags they put it in little tins with a screw top like this.
 
It's just sanitizers with methanol (a.k.a. wood alcohol) that are dangerous.
Isopropyl alcohol and ethanol are ok.
