I don't know whether to post this in RT or SMTR, as I'm looking for ideas but am not 100% sure yet. So I figured I'd post here, anyhow the traffic here is better!

I'm currently not wearing my fab BGD 4.69ctw earrings for fear of losing them (can't get insurance where we live at the moment). Am also taking the opportunity to let my ear holes heal up a bit; my left ear hole was stretched (not what you guys are thinking!! not from the big BGD earrings, but from another ill-fitting pair). They seem to be healing up nicely. I'm planning to leave them alone for at least another few months, until I get my recut earrings from BGD (new ones, about 0.90ct each). Even then, I won't be wearing them daily because I really want to give the holes a chance to heal properly.

In the meantime, I'm wondering if I can get get a pair of clipped on earrings (am having terrible withdrawal from not wearing any diamond earrings at all, LOL!). I have some other loose small diamonds (some about 4 pointers, some 0.14's etc.) that I can have reset into such a pair. I may even be willing to spend money (max $2k) to buy a brand new pair. I'd like to see if anyone owns or has seen clipped earrings, either as studs or dangles? Please post pics if you can. Thanks.

I wouldnt put diamonds as clip on earrings only for the simple possability of them slipping off. Clip ons are not secure, and one catch on a sweater or hair and woosh it is gone. With posts, there is something holding them in place, so the risk is quite a bit lower.

I''d agree with RH; I''d worry too much about clipped-on versions falling off.

I''d alternately recommend leverback earrings. You could use small diamonds basket-set dangling from leverbacks. They''d not pull at all (I wear .75 each in dangles and there''s no weight on my wears from them), and they''d be far more secure than clip-ons.

I would think clip ons would hinder the healing process you are trying to promote.

I agree about the lever backs. I have only one pair, and they are dolphins!!! I have no idea what the physics is in all this, but they seem absolutely weightless in my ear.

I tend to agree.

I am sorry your ear lobes are sick. It must be so sad to have your beautiful earring and not be able to wear them.

Take that 2k and buy something devine that you can wear and enjoy NOW. You already have the very best for your ears.

What could i get for 2k? Care to help me choose something, earlobe friendly?

Thanks for all the suggestions for the leverbacks. I keep going back and forth betwen this and studs - for my (planned) newly recut and reset 1ct G VVS1. These will be halo'ed in super-delicate mircopave haloes. Still keen on leverbacks?

Could you ladies possibly help me further with my thread on RT re recutting the 1ct G VVS1 stones? I posted that thread roughly at the same time as this thread, but so far no one has bitten!
