Cleaning Question -blueish film on diamond?

Hi guys, my fiancee has been cleaning her diamond in a solution provided by the jewelry store that says it''s safe. The solution is slightly tinted blue. I don''t think she has been throughly rinsing and drying the diamond b/c i''ve noticed it looks little blue in some light. I went back to the store just in case and they provided my the black light test to prove my there was no florescence like the GIA says. Is it my imagination that in some light the diamond will emit a tad of blue color or is it probably related to not thoroughly rinsing and drying her diamond after soaking. A diamond is not porous correct and any film should be able to come off?

I''m not an expert but, I don''t think a diamond is porous. It may be reflecting what''s in the room or the lighting may be playing a role.

It is possible she has some muck or grease residue on the diamond, a very good cleaning may help. Try some sudsy ammonia and hot water, soak for half an hour, scrub and rinse. Also you could get a professional cleaning on the diamond if that doesn''t help, but it is possible a thorough cleaning at home will help. You could also buy her an ultrasonic cleaning machine to use in future!
