I was ironing my shirts the other day and thought of this. Could you clean an E-Ring with the steam from an iron?

Most people on here who are steaming use theri Salton Jewlery Spa cleanears which includes a steamer. I have an ultrasonic. But I dont see why you couldnt use the steam from you iron other then it might not be as concentrated.

Hey where do you get one of those spa cleaners?? I would love to steam my rings now and again. Where can I find one??

Part of what makes the steam work so well for jewelers is the pressure with which it is released. I don''t think you can duplicate that with an iron. It takes my steamer 15 minutes to build up enough pressure to be ready to steam jewelry and diamonds.

You can find the Salton Jewelry spa at www.qvc.com .

Just any FYI, the Salton Jewelry Spa mentioned by kaleigh only takes 30 seconds to heat up to steam your jewelry...

I don''t know that the steam from your iron would "blast" away the dirt/grime like a true jewelry jet does. Essentially people use steam in order to accomplish that, not for the moisture. That being said, I guess it would be better than nothing. If you''re just looking for the moisture, there''s a rather easy to combine cleaning solution that you can find through threads here... just use a very soft toothbrush (like a baby''s) and that should do the trick.

I just bought a Salton due to some gift certificates I had for Amazon (balanced out the price difference), but haven''t had a chance to use it (waiting on the ring). I do have a standalone steam jet at the current, but it''s BIG. Figured the soon-to-be fiancee would appreciate the thought when she gets the ring.

I don''t know that I would give that a whirl but I have used my waterpik to clean my eternity band.

Just a side thought. I clean my rings with 2 parts water and one part ammonia. I let them soak for about 10 mins then brush them just a bit. It really makes my platinum shine! It seems to work better then the pink stuff you can get a Target.
