Clarity Enhancement?

Hello!

I have been lurking for awhile and am loving this site. I love all things diamond and am doing some early (very very early) research for engagement rings. I am looking to get between 2-3 carats and am going to go either OEC or RB but I have seen some interesting preloved pieces that show "clarity enhancement". One even from a PSer. How big of a deal is this? Is this just a full stop do not consider or are there different types of enhancement and some are okay?

In my opinion it is a full stop since you can just as easily select a non enhanced stone. I have two friends (we are all married 25 + years) and they both found out within the last 5 yrs that both their stones were enhanced t hey were not happy and I am sure that their husbands had no idea but when they heard that and looked at their rings under a microscope is kinda put a damper on their opinion of their rings.

so if you have a choice just pass

Get 2-3 carat clarity-enhanced diamonds OUT of your mind.
Get 1-2 carat diamond that are not clarity-enhanced INTO your mind, unless you can come up with a lot more money.

Okay, start again.

Do a search.
