i want to know if I should buy one or not

NOT :!:

No...

Definitely not. I'd buy a simulant before I would buy CE. Or I'd rather have a small, nice quality diamond over a larger one that would have much lower value due to the CE.

no, no AND NO

Has anyone said NO???

I would consider that to be a huge waste of money and I would also rather have a simulant than one. Do a search and you will find many threads that go into details about why people here find them undesirable.

Hi Merty,

CE isn't the end of the world, but it is something you need to understand. "Clarity Enhancement" in the most nontechnical terms, means taking a diamond with a big, huge, awful crack - a diamond that was previously unsaleable - and cramming it full of enough diamond bondo that it looks like it was perfect from the beginning. "Wall'la - I love you."

The two most important things you need to remember, however, is that 1) bondo burns (so you must tell anyone that ever sets/resets/sizes/resizes/repairs,etc your ring that the center is CE), and 2) these diamonds wholesale at a *MASSIVE* discount to untreated diamonds.

Hope this helps.

I am going to go against the grain and say why not?
With some big IFs
If it is properly disclosed.
If it is properly done
If there is more diamond than filler, I have seen some I swear are 90% filler.
If you keep in mind everything Jim said above.
If the price is right.
If it is well cut and looks great,

To be honest the last one will be the hard part because they are often pretty wonky.

I have one, and like Jim said, those diamonds basically have cracks in them. After 6 months of wear a slight hit on a metal filing cabinet caused a filled crack in my stone to become and even bigger crack. If properly disclosed and priced accordingly, I wouldn't mind CE diamonds for earrings or a pendant (which is where mine is now), but I will never wear one in an everyday ring again.

I agree with this. Just know what you're buying and pay accordingly.
