Hi everyone,

I just had to post a rave about my new favorite product. I just got a Clarisonic Mia skin brush, and after using it for only one day (once in the morning & once at night), all of my blackheads are gone. I have had mild acne since the age of 11, and for the first time in over 20 years, I have found something that works.

I just wanted to post this because I had debated getting one of these things for ages, but never did because of the price. If you have mild acne/sensitive skin, do yourself a favor and get one of these things, instead of spending money on skincare products that don''t work as well. I just used the device with my Clinique Liquid Facial Soap in Mild, and my skin looks better than it ever has.

Just wanted to give a shout out for a great product ...

the Mia is the travel size, right? I have the original one and yes, I love it too!

I''ve never even heard of it! Where''d you get it?

I have the pro and I LOVE it! I use it with cetaphil and love how the texture of my skin has improved. I also find that it has reduced breakouts that I get during that time of the month. If I get any, they seem to go away a lot faster. I also have the body brush which has helped with some of my upper arm bumps.

I got it with a 20% off coupon on Skinstore.com, but they also sell it on sephora.com. The Mia is the smallest travel size version, but I think it works great, so I don''t feel disappointed that I didn''t go for the bigger, more expensive version.

It retails for $149, but with my coupon, I got it for $119. It was a splurge, but when I think of the thousands that I''ve spent over the years on fancy skincare that didn''t do as much, I feel like it was worth every penny.

Sounds great. I have really sensitive skin so I have to be careful about what I use. I will check it out next time I''m in Sephora.

Ooooh thanks for the tip, vesper! I''ve always wondered about those. My skin is pretty clear for the most part but I''d like to improve the texture.

SDL-please update us when you get that kit in! That is tempting!

I''ve been thinking about getting one of these for over a year.. still on the fence (I''m a bit (read: a LOT) frugal) and would have trouble splurging.. but I think I will end up doing so soon..

Glad you love yours! I've had my clarisonic for about 2.5yrs and still love it on my sensitive, acne prone skin :)

We are a clarisonic family! I have bought one for each of my kids, and a MIA for my son to take to college. He did have a full size one but it was bulky taking it down the hall to the bathroom. We all love them!

They are worth every single dime, don''t you think? Also, I had a problem with one of them. It kept mildewing under the brush. I think in was a bad seal. Anyway, I called up Clarisonic and they overnighted me a
brand new one and sent a free label to send the other back to them. I think that is great customer service as well.

Wow-lots of recommendations here-I just might need to go ahead and splurge myself! I''ve not been using the Skin Medica cleansing system-it''s really expensive, so I didn''t get any more when I ran out-(tho I did find it on ebay for cheaper and ordered it), so even w/the vitamin D, my skin is really bad again.

I have the mia too, and am happy with my choice. It's the smallest one, and it's still pretty hefty to use, so I'm glad I got it instead of the pro I was considering.

Vesper, your blackheads went away in one day?? Amazing. My nose feels super smooth after using the mia, but visually they're still there, though maybe less prominently so. Probably because of my larger pores. But the upshot is that the mia has improved my skin texture considerably.

If you're on the fence about getting one, seriously, get it now, ladies (and gents, too)! You're bound to buy one sooner or later; why not earlier, so you can enjoy it longer? The price isn't going to drop any, at least not from what I can see from years of tracking. Getting more use out of it is saving money!

Okay, you talked me into it. I just ordered the pink (of course) Mia and now I can''t wait until it gets here!!! I got mine at amazon.com for $129.00, so I''m excited that I saved a little $ too! Thanks for the tip!

I think I will pull the trigger on the clarisonic tonight - but it''s hard for me to decide which model to get... :)

I forgot to add an important detail about the Clarisonic. When I''m in the shower, I use it on my studs (+ necklace, etc.) so I don''t have to take them off for cleaning everyday. No finger smudges! I heart multitaskers

I bought a Clarisonic pro last night on Ebay that came with one of each type of brush (including the body one).. I''m excited for it to show up in the mail now! I think I''ve talked my husband into trying it too

Yay for Maevie!

This thread has me interested!

Do you use a cleanser with this too? I have skin that is sensitive to products but loves a good exfoliation, and I''d like to keep using my usual cleanser. Do you use just water with it, or can you use it with a cleanser?

you use your regular cleanser - I''m planning to use either Spectrogel or Cetaphil.

You all are tempting me so hard! I''ll probably break down and get one soon...I bought too many clothes this weekend, though, so I should probably wait to pull the trigger!

I also have the Mia and love it. I just use it with my regular cleanser (Dermalogica) but lots of girls recommend using it with Cetaphil.

For girls with sensitive skin, I''ve heard to be cautious not to press it too hard on your face - just let it glide over.

Only noticible difference with the Mia over the regular other than size is the lack of the indication to change locations (regular Clarisonic beeps when you change ''zones'' of your face). I''m a smart girl though - I can basically move it around without the beep :-)

that`s exactly why I bought the pro - I tend to break out on my chest and back occasionally too

Glad to see more people loving the Clarisonic--it''s my favorite skin tool. It keeps my sensitive, acne-prone skin remarkably clear. I use Cetaphil or Philosophy Purity Made Simple cleanser with it. I use my regular-sized (not the Pro) model on my chest and back as well with an acne cleanser, and that seems to curb any little breakouts I get there.

I love Cetaphil.. I have seen a significant change in my skin since I started using it a few weeks ago. I also use the moisturizer. My daughter got me hooked!!

... I''d have bought the pink Mia too, but I really wanted the body brush.. nice for pampering!

LOL, I kinda wanted the body brush when I was contemplating which model to get, but I figured I''d be too lazy to change out the brush heads all the time. I''m happy I got the mia because I soon found out I can use the regular brush head for the body anyways. I don''t go lower than the neck these days though, cuz I find I get these weird little bumps like white heads when I use my clarisonic on my body.

oh and this is totally off topic, but I''m totally jealous of how close you seem to be with your daughter, SDL. Come to think of it, you''re pretty chummy with all your kids. You''re so blessed

Now I miss my mama.... (who has the same clarisonic as me, btw - we splurged for the duo pack from the website when she was in town!)

More questions! You have created a monster with this thread! I have been working my way through the 619 reviews on MUA and I''m definitely veering towards sold.

Most of the reviews on MUA are for the more expensive versions with multiple speeds and timers. For those of you who have the Mia, which I would want because it''s less heavy/bulky and cheaper than the other versions, how do you find the lack of control over duration/power? Is it a con? Some reviewers have stated that the key for them was switching to a higher or lower setting.

Has anyone with a regular exfoilation routine tried this, and did it still give you a dramatic result? My skin is very congested (not a lot of inflamed breakouts, just general congestion) as it is oily with a very high turnover, which is the worst recipe for congestion!

I don''t tend to wear makeup on my skin as even light mineral makeup makes it feel like it is suffocating, but it would be nice to have more even skin tone naturally.

I must harvest your braaaiiinns! (Well, at least the part that thinks about this device!)

I do not have any advice yet - but I am hoping mine will be here by Friday.. fingers crossed! :)

Thanks for the tip Vesper! My skin always gets worse in the summer time, so I''m looking forward to trying the MIA. I recently tried the Murad line for acne prone skin and their post acne scar gel is pricey but worth it.

I''ve never heard of Murad, but I have some mild scarring - thanks for letting us know that it works :)

Maevie, have you gotten your Clarisonic yet? I remember my mom and I were on our toes while we were waiting for ours to charge fully before trying them.

ETA: Indylady, does the post-acne gel help lighted the scars? I'm using the acne spot treatment, which seems to work well on my skin, so I'd be willing to try out the post-acne to get rid of the dark splotches if that works for you.
