Hello,

I''m looking at the Christopher Design "classic" round diamond with round halo. G52-RD150

http://www.christopherdesigns.com/classic%20web/pic_3.jpg

How much should I expect to pay if I use a .75 carat round center? Also, if the setting is white gold.

I''m worried the large jewelry store that has this setting will rip me off.

Thanks for the help.

Jay

many higher end designers will not allow their retailers to vary the pricing so you''d probably get very similar prices from several stores. I don''t know of any Pricescope vendors that carry the Christopher design line for you to price compare with though. You could always call several of the retailers and get quotes that way to be sure.

Really? So no matter what store I go to, the setting will always be the same price? Even online?

I think the setting is default for a 1 carat stone, but I was hoping to stay around .75. Surely that would reduce the cost of the setting at least a little. Right?

Also, what stores carry this ring? I have only found one near me so far. I''m really trying to get a good price range here.

Thanks.

Where are you located? Diamonds Direct in Charlotte has that style. I bought a similar Chistopher Designs halo (not the same style, but a halo), and I think the price was around $2700-3000 in plat. It had ~0.4ct in the band and was for a center stone a little larger than a carat. And no, the price wont be the same everywhere. B&M stores have wiggle room in the setting.

the may vary a tiny bit, a few hundred dollars or so, but not much. the designers don''t like to see their designs discounted and many times will no longer let a vendor sell their line if they are caught doing it.

the size of the stone probably won''t change the price of the setting much, especially since there isn''t a huge difference between a .75 and a one carat. I would got to the Christopher designs website and search their retailers. Call a bunch of them and ask for pricing that way.
