Congratulations!! It''s going to look amazing, you have divine taste. It''s going to look almost like a split shank with the modifications...so naturally I love it (since I have one lol). Seriously, it''s going to be to die for, can''t wait to see the result. I agree with your choice of a matte band instead of shiny, it will make everything flow better I think. It''s stressful waiting for custom designs isn''t it?! Congrats again on finding the right design.
Thank you!! I can''t wait too - you guys get me even more excited!!!

I have a question - should I order extra melee diamonds because even if the jeweler replaces them for free, they won''t be the J colored h&a that I am buying elsewhere... I''m hoping they won''t be falling out, but for like $50 it seems like a good plan to have a few spares.

Hmmm, I really don''t know! I guess it depends how long you want to wait for repairs each time a stone falls out. They won''t have a hard time getting the melee, but they might have to order them instead of having them on stock. If they are cheap, maybe order a couple...but I wouldn''t worry about it either way. Also, there probably wouldn''t be any visual difference if you replaced one or two here and there with G colored stones or something. I really doubt anyone would notice the difference.

Congratulations on your ring! That is a beautiful setting...very unique and elegant. I love the brushed white gold look between the melee rows. Good luck with the custom head design. It sounds like you know exactly what you want so it should come out perfect!

So sorry to be late on this thread! Long day at the hospital, but BOY was it worth it to see such a slick and beautiful design. Seriously, its a wonderful contrast of understated matte central finish with a great peripheral sparkle that really catches the eye and draws attention to your hand, which ofcourse makes Gemini all the more noticeable

Hopefully when you get a chance you can take a pic of the wax, since while I have a vague sense of what you are shooting for its still not clear to me as far as the basket is concerned... though I am getting a sense that you wish to use polished metal as a backer to act as a "scintillation well". Congrats on settling on a design, that was one of the most difficult parts for me and from now on it ought to be easier ;)

Cehra--I LOVE the ring you picked out! It is just beautiful and oh so elegant! I agree that different prongs/head would make it even lovelier.

Oh--and there isn''t ANYthing to see in Vancouver!

Does anyone else think this setting would just be phenominal in rose gold? I mean PINK rose gold, not orangy, with white gold prongs? I think it looks like a satin ribbon, it''s so GORGEOUS!!!

C, you are LUCKY, LUCKY, LUCKY!!! And Molly, your friend''s ring is just to die for!!! I''m totally jelly!

LOVE this look.

:) I''m glad you think so! Do you know how hard it has been not to scrap this whole thing and get a ring *just* like yours??!! lol
lol your too funny ;)) My poor bezel has this huge ding on the top and starting to show alot of scratches (my husbands keeps saying "see you should have gotten the prongs, so you can''t see the scratches ...." I''m starting to think maybe he was right

oh well, I''ll get them polished out and maybe my next upgrade will be a six prong something

that''ll teach him to bag on my setting...hehehe

That setting is very beautiful. The classic setting seems to blend well with the more modern twist it has. It reminded me of a ring on Adwar.com, collection 19, page 1113. The centers of the rings are high polish, but if I understand correctly, the matte finish is done afterwards. Another thing is maybe the shank being matte might be too modern a twist for your stone. Perhaps it needs the high polish or glare from the shank to shimmer off of. Either way, these are very nice rings. :-)

Oh, I really like it. Congrats on finding the setting you were looking for. I love the matte part. 5.5mm is a GREAT width. That is about what mine is and it looks great on the hand (I know we both like wider rings).
