ahhh... well next time I''m in there I should take a pic of it just for kicks. I''m not buying it though. My head is going to be less modern/deco looking and more unique/elegant... at least that''s the hope LOL I have to say I like that head tons better with a round though!!! Rounds look good in anything though LOL My stone was a real *itch to find a setting for.Date: 9/29/2006 9:55:09 AM

She doesn''t have her wedding band yet- her wedding''s not until next summer.
Does your friend know who makes that setting? the jeweler didn''t know - I didn''t ask she look it up either though... I think most of their stuff is just for inspiration and they custom do their stuff.Date: 9/29/2006 10:08:13 AM

it''s really awesome - very very sparkley, but to just look at it you might not realize how much so!!! Those angled diamonds are at perfect viewing angle LOL my husband likes them so much he''s like "You should get them bigger" I looked at him like he was from mars LOL He thinks I should put 2 pointers in there at least and I''m like honey, there''s such a thing as too much LOLDate: 9/29/2006 10:12:45 AM

Her FI picked it out so she doesn''t know much about it and I don''t remember the specs- I''m sorry
I hope so! I love the band... she called me today to work out details on the head... I hope the head turns out okay... I don''t know what this process is like but I appreciate that she''s involving me in every step of the wax and not just presenting me with a finished wax and asking for approval. It''a amazing how many details you think are covered you realize were misunderstood or whatever once you see it. yikes! lol I guess she''s excited or something because she''s already been working in it a lot! Just since yesterday!!Date: 9/29/2006 5:48:32 PM

I love this setting, C. It is so wonderful. I also love the combo matte finish combined with the sparkle of the small diamonds. Your stone will look PERFECTO in there.![]()

yes! the jeweler gave my son a cookie wed (he''d gotten 3 shots and we were going to get him ice cream when we stumbled on it - he crashed out in the chair lol) and after I went and picked up my other son (and after a couple of hours of being with the jewelers) we went and got ice cream (cold stone) and I got coco banana cabana - I think that''s right... banana ice cream with yellow cake, chunks of banana and fudge lol. One son got ::shudder:: cotton candy ice cream with strawberriesDate: 9/29/2006 10:36:22 PM

THIS is the setting I like for your stone. So much better than all of the others you considered. It looks understated yet has dazzle. And it matches the stone in style and color.
What kind of ice cream did you get that 1st day? Or did you even make it into the ice cream store? As I recall a jeweler gave your child a cookie. Part of an heirloom is the story behind it.![]()

I don''t look the greatest cause it was at the end of our reception and I was so tired and happy.
I''m bummed I won''t be going back too... they have such good quality stuff but I was having issues with communication. For example - I told her what my budget was and she said okay - we drove up there and the estimate was way over that... now if it was going to be way over that, shouldn''t you have told us before we drove up there? That wasn''t THAT big of a deal but it was the same dealio in other areas as well. Their stuff is gorgeous... if I lived there I''d overlook the issues but that combined with distance wasn''t a good fit.Date: 9/29/2006 11:10:36 PM

I am SOOOO happy you found ''the one''!!! It always happens when you least expect it.
I''m a little bummed you won''t be heading back to Greenlake Jewelers thoughWell maybe I''ll be able to crash your portland gtg someday.![]()
I''m aiming for it to be as low as possible... so 2mm of metal, 1mm of space, and 5mm of stone at the MOST. I''m thinking she might be able to go down to 1.5 of metal but we''ll see. So 8mm or less. I really want it low.Date: 9/29/2006 11:16:18 PM

We could meet in vancouver or something! There are 3 of us in portland area, one in vancouver... that might be sorta central-ish LOL (okay not really lol) but - is there anything IN vancouver to look at????

Oh and thank you! I''m very excited and thrilled with the band, a little nervous about the head still... but they seem like such minor details. Worst case I can have four thick prongs - there are examples of that I like...Date: 9/29/2006 11:16:18 PM

It''s a bummer there''s no more PM or whatever... I guess when the time comes we''ll just announce it. Maybe whomever is in vancouver can look around - I know there is a lot down in portland (well relative to it not being the bay area or new york lol!)Date: 9/29/2006 11:58:58 PM
