Finally!!
what a fortuitous trip to the ice cream parlor I can tell you that!

This is a white gold ring - looks much whiter in the light but then so does my stone... they go so well together!! The matte band is going to be 1/2 mm wider than it is here and the beveled edges where the diamonds are are going to be tilted up just a tad so they can be seen more equally from the top and the side. They''re going to be 1.5 pointers and these I think are like 1.2mm. So this band is 4mm and mine will be 5.5 mm wide. The head/prongs are still up in the air a little but I LOVE this band, it looks like my stone was cut to fit this ring. I''d describe the head but it''s kinda complicated... but at least the designer knows or thinks she does LOL My husband thinks I''d like it better shinny but I think he''s wrong. I think the matte parts (combined with shiny parts) is what I love... I love the color of the matte non-rhod plated white gold. It''s like... thick cream

yeahh!!! yeah!!!!

That is a really gorgeous setting, i really really like it! It is classy yet edgy too.

How long will it take to put it all together????

How dod you know this was ''the one''? do you feel content right now knowing you have made a choice??

i am really happy for you and can''t wait for you to get it, and for us to get some hand pics!!

I love the way the diamond looks in this picture! You can almost see the dark cross! The cumberbund area and the matte band line up and you''d think that it would accentuate it in a bad way but it doesn''t - not in person. It actually takes the "flaws" of the diamond and makes them beautiful! I knew I was on the right track with the baguettes because too much bling in that area wasn''t doing it and the shinny metal there wasn''t doing it either - but this is it!!

side view - ignore the prongs!!

last one - ignore the head/prongs... that will be different... this is in different lighting too.

Wow that is just stunning! How exciting for you!!!

Oh my goodness Cehrabehra!!

That setting looks gorgeous! Congratulations :) Can''t wait to see pictures when its done.

that setting will be lovely with the modifications you described...i love the matte and diamond band combo, very sweet. can''t wait to see the finished pictures!

It''s perfect! I''m very excited!! How did I know? When I saw the rings with the bags in the middle and the diamonds I knew I was close but two things. - one, I know, shouldn''t say it but, too much bling! I felt like it was more of a RHR that belonged on a hand of a retired woman doing slots on a cruise ship! lol And two - I couldn''t get the band under 7mm it seemed to get the stuff I wanted... of course I hadn''t thought to *tilt* the diamonds before but still, this is better... much more understated although in person wow, those diamonds hit just the right spots... from above when the main diamond is going nuts the side stones are more subtle sparkle... but if you look from a bit of an angle they just fire off and I dunno, it just *fit*!

She said she could rush it for me and have it done in two weeks but I actually told her not to rush because I want it perfect LOL I''m guessing a month or so.

Yay! That''s great Cehra! It is such a relief to decide...I know!!!

Yay!! They didn''t make this ring and I''ve pointed out several places where I want it *tighter*. I''m going to leave milgrain etc off for now and then if I decide at the end we might add it for detail... not sure yet.

.... yeah *most* of it... hehehe ;) I''m so glad we went local because that drive last weekend to seattle was *hard* - 8 hours total and you just knew you needed to go again... we coulda done it all online, but with the head being as unusual as it is, totally designed by me, it is hard to do that long distance and here I can drop in every day! I already told her I''m going to come visit my stone. I miss it ::sniff:: My husband got concerned today that it could get switched out and I was like honey, no one is going to be able to match that stone and fool me LOL!!

Oh my...I LOVE it!!! Yay! Congrats on finding a setting! I cannot wait to see the finished piece!

Yeah, you have no worries about that! I have more to worry about since mine is a round, except for the fact that there don''t seem to be a lot of H&A stones just sitting around at local jewelry stores that they could use to switch! I''ll just have to take my handy H&A viewer with me when I pick up my ring!

wow I love the rest of the pics!

the last one really shows in great detail the setting. I actually like the head and think it is pretty but I am sure the one you have designed will be beautiferous. made that up just for you

I''m gonna have to get one (where did you get one) because I plan to purchase the little H&A melee and *those* could so easily get switched! My husband thinks its cool that they can make arrows on such tiny stones - the jeweler had never heard of them for that size! Plus my stone looks *so* cool under the H&A viewer... there''s no hearts and arrows but it''s like something out of the matrix or some sci fi city with all of these layers of blue shades... it''s all very symmetrical in a different way and depending on how deeply you focus the patterns change like in a kaleidoscope!

you''re just glad I''ll stop whining now ;) hehe
SuzyQ is still my inspiration... I took a piece of tinfol the other day and wrapped it around the back of my stone and sure enough the rainbows and white on the wall from the sun intensified, so it confirmed that I DO want a reflective bowl under the diamond... so that''s one of the main reasons for a custom head - well that and the fact that the one there doesn''t even remotely fit lol From the face view you''ll be able to see the whole diamond and from the side you''ll be able to see about 1 mm below the girdle - enough to let in light but not leaving the diamond standing high and dry. I think the whole diamond is going to be less than 8mm off my finger. We figured it today to be about 7.5. That ''surprise'' diamond is going to go. It''s cute but we might add some more melee in in another way around there...

I feel like a huge weight is lifted!! Thank you guys for your patience :)

I wish I had a little graphic of confetti and ticker tape to celebrate your decision! We will SO need a Portland GTG when it''s done.

So when is that supposed to be? Did I miss where you said how long it''s supposed to take?

Also, will this designer make your wedding band?

yay for you cehra. i can''t wait to see it all done and on your hand...

That is beautiful!!! I''m diggin on that satin/matte finish these days. I love the diamonds on the outside of the band -- are you wearing the ring alone or with another band? That ring can stand on its own, I think.

Seriously, you can''t go wrong with that setting and that diamond. They make just the right combination and from the pictures, the color of the gold and the diamond complement each other perfectly. I think you will be very, very happy with that ring.

Congratulations!!!

(And we''ll come and get you in Portland if you don''t post pics as soon as you get it!!!)

My friend has a very similar setting- I''ve always loved it.

There''s a wedding band that ''matches'' but I already have a wedding band. I''ve been married 15 years!

do you have more pics of her setting? do you have pics of the matching band? (the band is just like the ring sans the diamond and plus a tiny curve where the diamond is)

It''s sooooo yummy- my next upgrade might have to be mattified and studded with sparklies!

She doesn''t have her wedding band yet- her wedding''s not until next summer.

Your stone is going to look beautiful in that setting
